Device not compatible with Fallout Shelter (Android)

Post » Sat Feb 13, 2016 10:59 am

Are people from Bethesda reading the issues mentioned in this forum? We seem not to be alone with this issue.

Its not only tablets, my xperia t3 with 4.4.4 received message "not compatible" from google play.

Ive found 3 requirements, android 4.1+ on google play, 1gb ram on support answer from bethesda and ofc being allowed to download by google play.

Idk whats going on, it almost seems like only devices with specific resolutions/screen sizes are supported, which for me btw is 5.3'' 1280x720.

I've got the same issue. I've found two requirements for the game myself: 1 GB RAM and Android 4.1, which my Samsung Galaxy Nexus has of both. Still says not supported. I sent in a request using the link on the Google Play page and they told me to go to Bethesda's support page. Sent in a request there and they redirected me to here. Both times with auto reply.

Bethesda, if you're not even going to read your e-mails, don't give me an e-mail address to ask for support, just send me to the forums.

That is correct. If you read the permissions that are required, its says it needs device id and call information. A wifi only device won't be able to support that permission.

Oh thank god I'm not the only one with the problem. I have an HTC One S and the page says Fallout Shelter should be compatible with 4.1 and up. I have Android 4.1.1. I can't even find it in the app store. It's nowhere to be found, yet Five Nights At Freddys 4, and Angry Birds 2 are on there..So even if my phone was out of date, I reckon it's not THAT out of date. I mean FnaF is practically brand new. The only way I could find Fallout Shelter was by searching for it online, but when I was finally able to do that, it said it wasn't compatible with my device. I explained the issue to both Bethesdas support and Google Play. Someone from Google Play commented that it's pretty odd and referred me to an agent. But first, I wanted to see what Bethesda could do. So Bethesda referred me to here.

You know, I'd really love it if Bethesda stopped jerking us around and actually helped us. I feel like this forum is just so we can [censored] and [censored] until we get tired of [censored]ing, and inevitably forget about the whole thing. That's how most forums are, in my experience anyway..

Based on this it sounds to me like something didn't quite get ported over to Android correctly.

You know, I did reead a few comments last month claiming that it's harder to port games to Android, because you have to develop the game for a bunch of different sized displays. Hopefully Bethesda acknowledges our problems. I've been wanting to play Fallout Shelter ever since it was announced.

Yes and your ipad 2 is also not an android device. so the dependecies/permissions it requires would be different. as to why your android 5.1 device isn't running the game smoothly is another question al together.

I have Sony Xperia T3 and Google Play says it's incompatibile and I cannot install. However, I've got apk+obb from the internet and installed it on my smarthphone. It works flawless, so I don't understan why Google Play says it's incompatibile. Do something with it!

Hey guys,

Same problem here with Samsung Galaxy S2 ( Idk why its work on my gf phone, she have a Galaxy S3 mini, but still doesnt work in my friend phone he have Samsung Galaxy S5, big logic from bethesda dev lol ). So i contact bethesda at the email given for help in the website, and guys redirect me here in the forum  Like another user said :

" Bethesda, if you're not even going to read your e-mails, don't give me an e-mail address to ask for support, just send me to the forums. "

The real problem is the dev or someone else didnt say if its a bug or if its something normal or what ....

So now just hope the app dev dont work on Fallout 4, because in this case i think just computer with win XP and win 10 can launch the game, not other :D

I'm just wondering if maybe it's the services we are on. Me and my mum both have an Xperia m2 however I am on Vodafone. My phone is slightly different to hers with a watertight catch on each output/input. And the build numbers are slightly different. We have both updated it to 4.4 however she can get the game and I cannot.

I have the same issue (HTC One Mini), so I gave Bethesda a call (emails were just being bounced back with no information).

They haven't yet admitted that there's anything wrong, and they had absolutely no information to give me at all. However, my complaint has been pushed to the next level. If that even means anything.
