Vault: Vault 37

Theme: Control Freak Experiment

The Experiment: The Vault itself is surprisingly normal. Except for the lowest level where there are weapon stockpiles, Deathclaw eggs, etc. And on the ceiling are "sprinklers" that can spray very noxious toxins in a very controlled area. The lowest level is blocked off by a powerful blast door that requires a button that only exists in the Overseer's office. The same office is also blocked by an even more powerful blast door which requires a password to unlock which in turn, is locked inside a somewhat fragile door.

The point of this experiment is that nobody knows what's behind that fragile door and instead, are taught from childhood that the door houses a vicious mutated creature. The people of the Vault can live in peace with no idea how much power is inside that door since there is no weapons or armory other than the lowest level which is blocked off. Or some brave soul can smash through the door with a hammer and discover the Overseer's Office password

The office controls EVERYTHING. Anybody with access to the office can turn on the sprinklers in ANY section, open the lowest level, and even blow up the Vault.

The point is to observe whether or not somebody with absolute power will harness it for good or evil. Also as a side note, whether anybody will even think of going into the room that holds the password or not.

Predictions: Within 10 years, the door will be smashed open. One man takes control of everything. Here's where it converges

It could turn into a utopia society that is controlled by one autocrat or it fails in a mere month with everybody but the overseer alive.

Name: Vault 4

Description: 200 Residents are placed in the closed confines of the Vault, all systems operate in normal order and there is no sabotage of vault facilities. There is also no vault armory...

The Catch: 100 Metro Protectrons are scattered throughout the Vault and are activated within 60 minutes of the Vault door closing.

-They have no contact with Metro Central (and we all know what http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5WoyFDkmUg&feature=related means) :toughninja:

-There is only one metro ticket.......in the entire vault

Codename: Project "Tickets Please?"

Vault 9: 14 days after the Vault closes, the Computer announces that a Monster will be released into the corridors of the vault at 11pm until 6am every day. A holographic projection of a Monster (A scary looking one will be projected into the corridors.) at the specified time, and it wanders around. Allowing all the residents to see out their windows at the terrifying creatures. All doors are locked until 6am, where the Projection will disappear. If anybody is still out in the corridor (Which should only happen if one wishes to be.) during "Monster" Hours the entire vault is given information that the Monster is only a hologram, and that they have succeeded in the experiment. Then are given the option to leave the vault.

This experiment is to see how morale is affected by the presence of a terrifying all powerful creature.

1000 people, also the answer is Jelly.

No it's not! The answer is 42. Also that vault has 1/2 the number of towels as it has people.

Vault xx:
Anti-conception in the vault are placebos and the food contains conception improving drugs. It does not have the equipment for expansion and is nearly full once the blast door closes.
Overseer works with a council of representatives on vault issues.

Goal of the experiment. See what measures are taken to stop overpopulation and how those measures evolve.

Vault ___:

The Overseer is put in place, Vault Tec, unbeknownest to the Overseer, chose him because he would be a cruel harsh dictator. But as well, Vault Tec hired an 'agent' and placed him in the Vault populace, he would preach freedom of choice and 'For the People' propoganda in attempts to gain power. The purpose of the experiment? To determine how long the Vault populace would last in a harsh authoritarian environment.

Vault 134:

Vault was made with double the room, luxeries, and has higher technology than all other vaults. Vault dwellers are givin a lazy life, no chores, robots do all the work. Food is delivered but all means to do it yourself are there. Gyms, stoves/ kitchens, bathrooms, etc.... After two generations of lazy breeding, robots go into a state of sleep, but appear to have a virus. The experiment is to see if after time, laziness will kill us. Vault dwellers are forced to do things by themselves and work together to keep the vault working. After this happens succesfully, robots re-activate, and work together with vault dwellers. No more laziness will happen and, after outside is deemed habitable for food and purified water, vault doors will open and the people will use supplys hidden in vault to work with the robots to build civilisation.

The secret to the vault and real experement, only discovered if nuclear devestation doesnt happen, is too see if high pitch noise, throught birth, can subliminaly message people into doing un-willful bidding.

Overseer is not seen and has a team of highly teamed medical scientists keep him alive to see if experement worked. Overseer died, when wrong chemicals were pumped into the chamber, within minutes of isolation.

Slogan: Vault 134: All the luxeries and wonders of the modern world, and more! Beneath the ground, safe, from the bombs! Join vault 134 today and recieve, one classy vault 134 suit, state of the art tv, holograms, video games, and so much more. Vault 134, to see it is to beleive it!

Vault 134 failed as of all second generation specimin died after robots failed due to lack of exercise, and proper diet. Cause of deaths, heart-attack, diabetes, and unknown diseases. Both experements failed. Subliminal messaging told dwellers to start exercising, but none ever thought of it. Laziness killed us.

CODE RED: Experiments are to be never tested again, due to failure.

A vault where all residents get knocked out and their brains gets transplanted into Robobrains but get to keep all their human emotions and communicate via monotonous robotic voices.

A vault with 100 residents of varying ages who are all related to eachother.

Vault 37 - 1000 men, women and children enter the Vault and hear that 50 of them are convicts (rapists, pedophiles and serial killers to be specific). Every year one of the 1000 people must be executed, and they are told that after 50 years the Vault will destroy itself if the convicts aren't executed.
There aren't any convicts, and the vault won't destroy itself.
Vault 78 - 500 straight couples enter the vault. Of all the couples the woman has been pregnant for 8 1/2 month, and none of the men has the medical knowledge that is required to deliver a baby. In the vault there is one book where this is well-explained.
Vault 10 - the floors and walls are all made out of incredibly powerful vents. Each day every 'side'(East, West, North, South, Up and Down)'s vents spin for 4 hours (except for the 'Up'side, because no vents are attached to the ceiling for obvious reasons). The vents are able to match the force of gravity. Note that when one of the East, North, West or South vents spins the 'Down'-vents also spin a little. The order in which the vent-sides spin everyday is completely random.

Equipment: CCTV cameras and microphones placed above each bed and bathroom. All inhabitants given a PiP-Boy equipped with a viewing screen for every camera in the vault. Large telescreens with randomly changing camera views placed all around the vault. No bedsheets, loo doors, or even clothing. To counterbalance hypothermia extra heating provided including heated bedsheets. Other equipment works normally.

Vault 25: had all ex-convics, known gangsters/Pimps, and drug addicts on the lowest level of the vault (Known amount of ocuupants for this level 500 people) , corrupt pre-war cops, military vets, hard working workers, and guards on the middle level also the Main Armory, clnic, Cafe/Bar, Etc was on this level (Known amount of ocuupants for this level 300 people), and snoby/dis-respectful rich people and the overseer on the top level of the Vault (Known amount of ocuupants for this level 200 people). also every one has a gun in this vault. also it came equiped with only one G.E.C.K that each dweller thought he should be the one to use it to create a world of there image.

the purpose of this vault was to see if this vault could survive without killing each other over greed, revenge, or thinking you were superior to your other dwellers

Vault 99

Experiment Title: Death's Gambit
Size&Resources: 20x the size of a regular Vault. 800 years worth of food. Layout is the same as a regular vault plus the massive food storage area and a dimly lit lower level with a 100 megaton thermonuclear bomb in the center. The armory is in the sub-levels(one level before the lower levels), and is protected by three explosion proof doors, all requiring a different password. The armory has every gun the military used. Including was a massive armament of power armor and combat armor.
Population & Government: 5000 or less people. Everybody is equal. Three meals a day, one snack, same apartment size, and mandatory work hours for each job. The Overseer has very little power and is there to govern the people, not the Vault. Governing the Vault facilities is a super computer that works day in and day out with no chance of malfunction.

Experiment: Once the Vault is sealed, all the advlts and teens undergo a rigorous training program for military spec ops. There is lots of flexibility as anybody who fails simply has to do it again, no consequences other than embarrassment. Once a person passes, they get assigned a job based on specialty and hobbies. Other than that, they're free to do as they wish, except for the mandatory monthly obstacle course, again, no consequences of failing. Every child when he or she turns 18, they must do the same training program.

Once everybody except for children passed the training program, the lower levels starts to activate. The super computer announces it found an active nuclear warhead in the lower levels and that it won't ever detonate unless somebody pushes the button. A couple weeks later, it announces that unless somebody pushes the button one year, bad things will happen.

The first of the bad things is the massive food storage will close, keeping the food edible but without explosives, it would be impenetrable. Then the power goes out for three days. Then false Earthquakes disrupt the Vault's facilities and water stops for three days. Then finally, Deathclaws are released after the water turns back on.

If the button isn't pressed within 6 months, the armory doors open so anybody can get the guns. When somebody pushes the button, nothing detonates and the Vault door opens. The nuclear bomb was all deactivated permanently and the button was instead attached to the Vault door as an emergency button.

The point of this experiment is to see whether or not the button will be pushed to prevent the disasters or not. The armory opening is a side experiment. Once the armory opens, would the people either band together to push/not push the button or have dividing factions where one guards the button while the other tries to push it? Also, since the armory has explosives, would the people keep the button safe and not push it while combating the disasters?

Prediction: The Vault goes in a state of turmoil where the guarding faction of the button kills the faction that wants to push it. Then, without the other half of the Vault, the Deathclaws kill the rest.
Results: The Vault all decides to push the button after realizing that it was either die by Deathclaws or die by nuke after the Overseer found files. They push the button and the door opens. The community walks out and finds a GECK right next to the warhead. With it and their military training, they establish a large city rivaling Pre-War Vegas, using the Vault as a military training grounds and food storage center.

Vault 452
Codenamed project: Comfort Zone.
Location:New York City: Time square.

Hypothesis:Man can ignore moments of intense negative thought after being exposed to years of positive thoughts and encouragement.

Procedure: Vault is stocked to survive for at least 50 years, most standard supplies are found. However, in each room of the living quarters is a room simply called the "comfort zone". The room is empty when looked at, but when entered, the user is exposed to direct energy interacting with the users emotions directly, organs produce additional chemicals, muscles relax, and the user is put into a relaxed and happy state. this occurs every day at the same hour, 9 o clock at night. after 20 years of this therapy, the "Comfort zones" cause fake radio broadcasts to play throughout the vault, some only being heard by others. These broadcasts range from hate messages, fake attempts at opening the vault door with explosives, and other negative ideas. The last step opens the vault door.

Vault XX

The Experiment: To see how humans would cope without time.

Size: A normal sized vault with enough space for 3000 inhabitants.

Equipment: All normal fixtures, but no timekeeping devices, or light switches.

Organisation: All people entering the vault will place any diaries, watches or clocks that they have into an incinerator. Light's kept on at all times to confuse body clocks.

Length of experiment: Vault to be sealed for 300 years. However if the vault is opened one or more years before or after 300 years it will be filled with sarin gas.

Expected Outcome: Residents will do their damnedest to keep track of time but unless they etch markings into the wall every 24 hours when a 'day' passes for 300 years, they will die. Also some will go mad by counting in their heads constantly. At the very best of times it will be a very dull existence
