Devs of FO4 (and New Vegas) please play Arcanum

Post » Sun Jun 06, 2010 1:37 am

I am replaying Arcanum. Is the combat broken - yep. Are there more bugs than on my car's grill after driving through the countryside... yep. But the game has choices affected by character development in spades.

Dumb character - every dialogue is different

Persuasive? Makes many quests play out different

Violent? You can dead-end yourself and the game doesn't even bother to tell you - tough cookies.

I hope the devs will revisit this GEM and then try to have even 1/3rd of the depth in one of the upcoming Fallout games.... Arcanum shows what real multi-path complexity looks like....

Sigh.

Van Buren was actually going for such depth before it was canceled.
