Devs, please read. Game breaking Glitch is messing up my fun

Post » Fri Dec 09, 2011 1:11 am

I am loving this game, so damn much but I have come across a glitch and it is literally killing me

Slight Spoiler:

My AI Partner, Boone, is stuck in an interrogation room in Camp McCarran. During the brief mini mission to beat up a captured Legion member, I noticed he came inside the room and when I had left, he got locked behind. I had given him the command to "Stay behind" but he didn't listen and came in the room anyway. Now I can't get into the room nor can he get out since the door is locked and I can't find the key, if there is a key available (the door states that it can only be opened, via key. My Lock picking skills are 100). So now, I am partner-less AND I can't recruit another partner since anyone I try to get to follow me states that 3's a crowd, meaning they still think Boone is with me, regardless of him being locked in that room.

Now I have to go through the whole game without my army friend...and my trusty flying robot.

Any way to get Boone out of there? Thank you.

Check the Lucky 38 suite.

If Boone is stuck in there he not going to magically appear in the Lucky 38. The OP's best chance is to reload his save. Which if he was smart he would do every minute or so.

It's in the New Vegas strip, the one that looks like a roulette wheel.

If you're on the PC, press ~, click on the door and type 'unlock' (and enter and then ~ again).

If you're on consoles, sorry, but I can't help with that.

He came in on me to even shot at the Legion guy. When I left he was still in the room.... so I waited 2 hours, right there outside the door. When I exited WAIT he was out of the room.

The NPC's do have a way of unsticking themselves with a screen change or two.
I worried about Cas when she fell into a rock...but now I just let them do their thing, they catch up eventually.

Wander out into the wastes. Go far enough and the game will auto-fire him, you can then find him back at Novac.

I ran into something similar when exploring Vault 19 I believe. The two dingleberries I had in my party stayed topside while I went underground. 'Bout halfway through the vault it told me they went back to their fired locations.

Boone disappeared after I went into a casino, guess where I found him?
The companions are scripted to return to the Lucky 38, or to their house/shack/wherever if you lose them.

Disappering and stuck are two differnt issues, the op knows where Boone, he can't get him out.

If you leave a companion in a place where they can't get to you, and change cells a few times, there is no difference.

So let me get this right. You told him to wait before you went into the interrogation room. A script made him come in. Then you left and he didn't follow because you told him to wait.

Best thing to do is load an older save and don't tell him to wait. He's gonna come into the room regardless of what you tell him

Like others have said

If you wait long enough/have enough distance between both of you, he'll just go back to Novac and you'll get a prompt on screen telling you

Weird, I have lost EDE and Boone/Arcade countless times and they never come back to the suite. I stand corrected.
