Do Devs Read and Post here?

It was a Dragon Shout.

The rain is rendered the same way as environmental rain, regardless.

Vsions, thanks for chiming in :) Good to know there are Devs out there.

I won't pry on any questions as that wasn't really my point..although I am amused by the fix the rain posts.

Vsions is by far the most active dev that posts on the forums right now, he comes on all the time.

P.S. We love Skyrim! Keep up the good work!

I agree with Hungry Donner, these forums turned into a feeding frenzy when a dev chimed in, I do not envy them one bit.

i love TES III, if skyrim will contain everything TES III had then i will be inlove once again
i was truely heart broken to see 80% of morrowind and its features removed when i started to play oblivion ... i have been waiting almost 10 years for a release that will be like TES III was, and to include my true love of the Telvani and all of morrowinds origonal customs and lifestyles ...
by the way ... skyrim is releasing on my birthday ... i was born nov. 11nth 1969 in real life

Hehe...Even I got that. Course I have been following those silly threads. I am one who agree that I don't understand the reason behind it..but also one to say it's not that big of a deal as some make it. Still, clarification would be nice..but doesn't matter to me I am buying and playing regardless.

I don't think that would be possible if there weren't a moderator around all day long to ensure no spam is posted.

its simple: the people rage their fingers on the questions, and the most coherent was chosen.
the rest is deservedly ignored, like the trash they are:

"ohhh, what is the angle where the rain will fall? will wet the floor? will do "tec tec" in my helm?"

i hate this /\
And imagine the beth team hating that too.

that game get easily the GOTY. there will be mods. so why polute the road "we" know to talk to bethesda?

Took me all night to understand your post :( I think I got it now. The Devs answer legitimate questions, but ignore the others. I guess the question then becomes..which questions are legitimate and which aren't..and what are the standards for it.
Asking a legit question in a decent manner should be answered IMO, but yes posting a crying baby topic about something you dislike, should be ignored.

Anyways..that's all a bit off topic, I was just curious if the Devs were around much because I had a lot of respect for Bioware's community when I was around it during Dragon Age and beyond. The Witcher also had a good community if I recall. People have answered the topic, and a Dev even popped in, so that's cool. (Still curious about the rain though! HE HE. I just played an FPS made by a new developer..and during playing, rain was not falling through the roof but going through holes in it..so it made me think of this again)

We're definitely around. Some people read the forums more than others. If we can provide an interesting answer that doesn't tip our hand with regard to unannounced features or marketing plans, we usually do. Again, some more than others.

I was pretty active on the Meet the Devs threads for a while, but the questions started to repeat and/or become nonsensical. Good questions get good answers! :-D

The good news is that the game is a heck of a lot of fun. Hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do.

Ive seen a couple of Dev's here and there. Generally their a weird bunch and are rare like Sasquaches. Oh and Khajit and Argonian tails are in fact animated...
Thanks for the heads up. I'll be sure to steer clear of 'em at all costs. I hear they have orange account names, like prisoners' jumpsuits...

From what both you and vsions have told us, I cannot wait to play the game. I hope the testing is going well. What's the highest level someone's reached?

The devs actively read the forums, and you can see their names floating around if you keep an eye out for them. A fair number lurk without accounts however, or don't log in. The Community Managers also report on forum activity, common requests, and things like that.

They don't often reply. They used to be more talkative but a number of people starting to take developer opinions as hard facts and causing a stink when their personal opinions didn't match up with the developers. Developer comments also tended to attract people asking off topic questsions, which further dissuaded the developers from responding.

We do have a thread set aside for the developers to chat about non-game related topics, and they can be pretty active in there.

Yeah I can see why they can get discouraged, but at least they're still using it. I think to often devs get discouraged by unhappy fans with unrealistic expectations, and give up on their forums, filtering everything through mods. Happens with comic/show/film creators as well. To me that kinda defeats the purpose of having a board in the first place, if you not going to use a particular tool, why bother to have it? It's like the forum becomes the butter knife in a internet tableware placement. You don't really use it much, but you set it on the table anyway.

And as for using mods as filters, well mods aren't perfect, it's like that junk filter you have on your email, sometimes it doesn't filter out the junk, and sometimes it categorizes legit mail as junk. The only way to be sure is to take a look yourself.

Well if they do come on from time to time and answer sensible questions, I would like to know if there will be a patch to turn off some situations where 3rd person is mandatory. Just for those of us who like the 1st person experience.
