idk im not sure either but i guess I can give that a try...but im too busy being pissed off at my lichcraft 2 save because i cant get any human followers...and i want a lair...:(

I am uploading version 2.1 as we speak.
Then i think i will start work on the next drow mod

Aight there is still a problem with the system. I just played it and 2 things happened:

1. I had two rings identified by one scroll...meaning i bought 1 scroll and both un-ID rings became ID at the same time.

2. The game crashed again upon trying to ID a shortsword after purchasing a single scroll fromt he same mage who i bought the scroll for the rings mentioned above. I also sold this mage a few items of minor worth (the thief ring, an extravagent ring, and one other item like those) before i used the sword-id scroll.

nothing in the warnings file pertains to your ID system those were errors from me using the console to kill a few people temporarily while a LC2 script was running.

hey Bob,

Ok a few things - sorry it took me so long to get back to you.

Theres a fatal flaw in the Ring ID script - I forgot to add "end" to the scripts and forgot to change the "stopscript id". Essentially what happens is the ring id scripts keep running and keep adding new identified rings to your invnetory at an alarming rate, also removing any unidentified rings.

During my testing this casued my game to eventually crash.

I am working on an update as i type this and should have a new version up that fixes this probelm


As to the game crashing using identify scrolls 2 things occured to me:

1) The script is flawed and doesnt work. If this is the case identify scrolls will have to be removed from the mod. :(

2) i briefly read in the Morrowind code patch thread on here how there is a problem with removeitem. It can cause the item to staty in the inventory even if removed by script - and yep can cause CDT's. If this is the case,its out of my control. I have tested the mod alot and can say i have never had this happen - then again i use mostly an NPC. Again if its only happening with scrolls then all i can say is that its not happening for everyone. I will put a note in the readme detailing this bug and stressing if anyone encounters it to use the NPC's instead. The bug is detailed below.

No wonder that my encumbrance is 20-30 units below what it should be.Example 2 (by Tyraa Rane): say I have 20 pieces of crab meat to give to one of the NPCs from Cutthroat's Minor Quest mod. I talk to him; he takes the crab meat. I click "goodbye" and open my inventory--the crab meat's still there. Go and talk to him again, pick up the quest again (you can do the quests ad infinitum if you want), and re-open my inventory...no more crab meat. It's almost as if the inventory isn't "refreshing" properly.

Aight not to burst your thoughts, but when one heres the word guard in terms of armour, one would normally think of...well a shield...so why not do a sword and shield combo?

:P valid points but 2 reasons why not a shield:

1) i havnt got around to adding shields yet :D
2) the "guard part" comes from the spell effects - meant to protect the player

Once shields are done, i guess i could add a 3rd item to the set Angelic Shield?

v2.2 release notes:

- Fixed problem with Ring scripts.The scripts didnt stop and so unlimited rings were added to playes inventory causing CTD's
- Fixed Varible in ring script. It was set to 74, when it should have been 64
- Added two new items "angelic sabre" and "angelic Ring" These are set items, so the player gets an extra bnous when worn together.

EDIT, oh btw can I make a suggestion. If im right it probally wouldn't be that much extra work but if you want to use the idea then it would be easier to start implementing it now.

The idea is this, I'm a huge fan of diablo 2, world of warcraft and phantasy star online. All of these games use the concept of different tiers of loot or quality of loot... just like your adding to morrowind. Another thing they all have in common which may sound like a small worthless addition but to me makes a huge difference is in each game these different tiers were color coded. For example in warcraft it goes green = rare, blue = superior, purple = epic, orange = legendary. In phantasy star online I will never forget the rush for a red loot box as it ment a rare item. I can't remember but im sure diablo 2 used different coloured text on weapons.

I think it would really add alot to your mod if you added a colour system as well. I pretty sure you can't have coloured text (would love to be proved wrong on that) but I know for a fact you can redo icons. Seeing as you are using the basic icons from the game all you would have to do is redo them with say coloured borders and link the new bordered icons to the various identified weapons. In your post above you have set items displayed in that cool green. You could have that green as the border for any set item that is identified. It wouldn't have to be a border either... perhaps recoloured versions of the basic enchanted item icon would fit more seemlessly into the game.

This is already an excellent mod and i'm downloading this whatever. But if you did something like this you would be my god.

I'm glad you're implementing sets, I love collecting!
Because short sword are the only weapons made, I've made a new char that uses them, that's how much I want to play this mod ;)
Can't wait for the additions!

I am on it :D

I hack parts from two seprate scripts and combined and tweaked them to work. Looks like i forgot to change a refrence to a global.

Also, for some reason the dialogue got screwed up - so i have re-worked that. Some times it would loop it you had a shortsword and a ring in the inventory - the ring would also be removed when you try to identify a shortsword. So thats all been fixed now.

The new version should be up at some point today :)

would this dialogue have anything to do with tribunal expansion or no? i had gotten a error for a variable that had been tweaked in Tirubnal but i think that was caused by the gladiator mod...not sure though

I am wondering, should i mention the Removeitem bug, the one you have been experiencing and just a small note to say its out of my control? The only come-around of it i can advise is that if you experience it using the scrolls, then to stop using the scrolls and just use the NPC

Well the work around is - Dont use the scrolls lol.

I have never had this problem, and it does seem random. Not everyone experiences this in their games
