Diablo 2: LOD

Is there a way to get stuff to a mule with only myself?

Also can you still dupe items?

After the last patch, no. Duping I'm sure someone will figure out at some point in time.

Create a game (normal and so any level can enter), wait 5 mins, then leave game and rejoin to make sure its still open. Then drop item and switch char to mule. If you do it too fast constantly you will get a temp ban.

I don't understand how that would dupe an item but ok :P

Thanks.

Does durability actually affect items other than price?

I know this is a late reply but if you're still up for it I'm still in need of muling.

Can I life leech from undead? Cause these burning undead archers are boning me.

Sorry for double post, but I have absolutely no idea what skills to do now. I'm a fury wolf and I've maxed out fury, lycanthropy, and werewolf. I have a 2 or 3 points in feral rage for the health leech. I'm thinking my only viable options are feral rage, oak sage, or hunger. Anybody got an opinion?

Only advice I can give is that you need high damage, high ar, and increase attack speed!

IIRC you can do it to Zombies but not Skeletons and... Ghosts I think

Yeah, so far skeletons and ghost don't return health. Yet zombies do.

Does each difficulty spawn higher lvl items (ie. Normal = Normal, NM = Exceptional, Hell = Elite)?

Yes. You can also use Horadric cube recipes to convert an item to the same type of item of a higher class, but I've found it's extremely hard to find the necessary items to complete these transmutations offline, where you can only use what you actually find yourself. For instance, trying to find chipped gems (for rune recipes) in Hell difficulty offline is just about impossible.

I went though the game a bit. Traps and Skeletons don't give health or mana but the flying ghosts do (Wraiths, Spectres etc) I tried it our with the Assassins Cobra Strike. So if it's not make of flesh it doesn't give you health nor mana

I was thinking of rebuying Diablo 2: LoD again for my son. I have my copy somewhere, but the disks are scratched and I can't get them to work no more. So if I buy another copy, I install it on my laptop, and then on my wifes computer, and I use my old LoD disk, (I think I lost the code for it) can I use it so I can play my son just him and me? If I can't and I buy another copy of LoD, how do I play agaisnt my son, just him and me. Can we do it with my wireless router? I use it to play with my son on the 360 vs 360, so can I do it PC vs laptop (I think that is called Lan, correct?) or do we have to go to battle.net and play agaisnt eachother that way?

I don't think Diablo 2 has LAN support. And you would need two keys to play with each other. It's a shame you lost your key because you could download the files you need to install LoD if you had it.

I bought a cheap copy 2 or 3 years ago. Then when I got home, I realized why it was so cheap. It was a French Version LOL. I was able to get my old computer and copy the files from there, over the french files so everything would be in english. Now my old computer, I can't get access to now, and since it would cost me money anyways to try and get the files again, might as well buy a new copy. I guess, I could install the english copy on my laptop, the french version on my wifes computer, and then just recopy the english files on my laptop over the french files so everthing would be in english again.

Since I bought both copies legally, I would be able to play on Battle.net then? I will look to see if I can find a copy of LoD with key. Since I already have 2, one english, one french, I will look for it.Maybe I will luck out.

Thanks for the quick response.

I am curious, does anyone play with mods? I read there was a mod that gave higher resolutions. How is it? Does it make it easier on the eyes since we are use to higher resolutions when we play now.

Just so you know, because from this it sounds as though you don't, one of the more recent patches enables no-CD play, so you wouldn't need to find that other CD. If you're wanting to play over Battle.net however, you'll still need two separate CD keys. I've not actually looked through the other online options in some time, but I was almost sure there was an option for LAN.. Maybe not though.

Is TCP/IP the same as LAN? If so then d2 does have LAN.

Nope. At least, I don't think it is. I checked though, and there's no LAN option. Thought there was..

No it just makes the screen bigger with all the associated issues. I.e. you can hit monsters in ranged that are "Off Screen" and they will just stand there since you haven't entered their activation range. Tough I think there's a mod that changes this too. However any mods will get you banned off B.net

How does the 1.13 patch do widescreen then. It says it automatically does it, but I know I'm not in 1440 * 900.

It doesn't. My laptop's monitor is at 1600x900 and when playing Diablo II, it simply leaves black bars on either side of the screen. On my old 1280x800, which is also widescreen, however, it didn't leave any bars on the sides. So, I don't really know.
