When I first went to DC the people weren't very friendly. I actually had to kill several before I could talk to Piper. I should have loaded a previous save and tried again but didn't. I was able to do a few DC quests. So I'm wondering:

Am I missing out on several more quests? I found out about Solomon and the mutated ferns by exploring but he is one of the persons that I killed.

Will taking Nick as a companion open them up? I did a couple for him but there aren't any more available now.

Was there a quest involving the Piper relationship that I missed? I had one with Cait and Curie.

Who have you killed?

Mutated Fern you can recreate simply by going to Forest Grove Marsh, shooting a bunch of ferals and going back again.

Did you kill anyone from the bars? They give some good side quests.....

Not in the bars. I did those quests. I killed people in Pipers place. Polly, Solomon, the preacher and two robots are who I killed.

I went to the marsh, killed the ferals and listened to the holotape. That's how I found out about the mission. But when I went back to DC nothing happened. I even went to Solomon's place.

I didnt know/cant remember a holotape - I got the mission straight from Solomon and just did it, I'd actually cleared out the Marsh a few hours earlier.

Polly I haven't spoken too, there is an unmarked quest from the Preacher along the lines of the 'Get Diego Married' one from Fallout 3.

How did you get everyone hostile in the first place?

Not sure. Must have accidentally shot a guard while he was in combat with an enemy.

The holotape was left by the lady that was gathering ferns. On top of one of those roofs at the marsh.
