DIBELLA'S WATCH
By Antiscamp for Oblivion

1.0

It was said that the Goddess of Beauty and Love herself created the Island. She created it for all the enemy races and fighting factions of Tamriel; as a haven in peace and tranquility, where all petty grievances would be forgotten, and there would be no cries of war and no clash of arms. She painted her island like a piece of art. She made it with lush forests, streaming rivers and fertile farmlands; she raised mountains in the north and in the west, made beautiful islands and painted endless plains. She made the land for a beautiful people who she drew from all the races of Tamriel.

But in the far west, the snake in paradise raised its head. The dark Deadtree Clan formed its black legions and stormed down from its prison in the mountains; to conquer, to pillage and destroy the peace She had installed. Angered and spurred by their devilish gods, they broke through, grew their numbers, raised their barbarian banners and set the march east to destroy civilization and beauty once and for all. Dibella's beautiful island was about to be torn by war and fire.

INSTALLATION AND PLAYING

This mod requires Shivering Isles.

Install by placing the files in your Oblivion Data folder. Meshes and Textures go into their correct folders as well. Activate the mod in the Data section of the start-up menu, or in OBMM. Uninstall by removing all the folders and files associated with the mod and unmarking the mod in the start-up menu.

NOTE: THIS IS BETA

This is released to the public only for feedback purposes and bug-reporting. Please do submit your reports using the contact information below or on the Dibella's Watch ModDB page. Right now, you can visit the island and see its beauty and promising future. You can see the inhabitants live their peaceful lives since they have a working AI and you can enter most buildings. Oh yeah, you can also have a bit of fighting. New modder's resources have been used in some instances to make the land and its inhabitants more characteristic.

Status: The first stage of the Main Quest Storyline is now done, but this story will be far longer than this, so it is to be considered "To Be Continued". The mod is already huge, with masses of exciting locations to visit and witness; the landscape is detailed and all is hand-made, as there is nothing randomly generated in here. There are hundreds of NPC's inhabiting several villages, camps, castles and one major, walled city. This is already a working land, and the attention is now on creating more quests. There are several smaller quests already.

Dibella's Watch has been thoroughly playtested by myself to be bug-free and stable, which it is. However, as with all Beta, there might be bug-details in the seams that I've missed personally. Therefore, I do expect your feedback!

STARTING OUT

There is boat transport from Anvil to Dibella's Watch. Go find the Orc Captain whose ship lies at the Anvil docks and talk to him. There is no Fast Travel on the island. To get back to the Tamriel Mainland, take the boat from Port Zerrva by talking to the Nord captain at the harbour. Welcome to Dibella's Watch!

PERMISSIONS

This mod is a one-man project done in anticipation of Skyrim, the next instalment in the Elder Scrolls Series. If you'd like to do own additions to this mod and upload them online for others to use, I'd like you to get in contact with me. I would ask that you don't upload this mod to another internet service than the download page I've provided. This, to avoid a lot of older versions floating about, and to keep control and statistics intact as far as possible. The included resources are modder's resources found on the Elder Scrolls websites online, and are free for modders to use. If you use any of these resources, please get them from their original download and credit the author accordingly.

This mod is provided as-is. I, as creator, cannot be held responsible for any damage this mod does to your computer. Use it at your own risk and backup your saved games before doing so. To prevent any possible damage caused to saved games, Dibella's Watch has been cleaned with Tes4Edit. I have had no mod conflicts at all, but please do report any conflicts between this and other mods.

Here is a patch to fix missing textures to begin with...

http://www.filefront.com/17910933/DibellasWatchPatch1.rar

If anyone is experiencing strange graphical glitches with the mod, try installing Coronerra's Skeleton. Some clothing and armour within the mod was designed for that, and I will pack it along with the next release of Dibella's Watch. This skeleton is great to have in other instances as well (http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27945). If that does not help (but it does), please report.

WIP-screenies for Beta Release 2

Here are some screenshots of what is to come with Beta Version 2. Right now, I am building the Idyllic South of the island, which will be a tropical paradise. A lot of my time has gone into creating a Redguard Trading Post called Sachsmoore, but now, I will be turning my attention to building the landscape. I've installed a region system as well, which allows for different kinds of weather conditions as well as ambient sounds. Stay tuned for Beta Release 2.

Dibella's Watch has gotten a mention on http://www.moddb.com/, which is a great compliment, and a good reward for all the seriously hard work I've done on the mod.

Beta 04 is already in the works.

I haven't downloaded it yet (I'll wait till a full release, since I've already got enough things to check out), but the screenies look very nice. I'm always looking forward to new places to explore, especially with quests. Keep up the good work!

Thanks, Walker.

Right now I'm working on more quests and dungeons. I need to prioritize that part of the mod now, since I've already done a lot of landscaping. Now I need more enemies and stuff for the player to do, although there is some of it already in here.

I have released Beta 05 today. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37120.

A lot of things have happened. There are entirely new areas to explore, dungeons, some quests already, more and more fearsome enemies and loads of other stuff. In Beta 05, I've worked mostly on the western areas, where I am creating a desert, but I've also added and built upon already existing areas, making the detail level of this mod immense already as is. Go download Beta 05, while I start Beta 06!

Comments and suggestions are most welcome.

I wonder if there is a different between the Nexus and ModDB download with Beta5, because I just get through ModDB and not on Nexus. Thanks for the update. :thanks:

Anyway good luck with Dibella's Watch and you know where you can find me if you need my comments or suggestions. :whistling:

Huh? Can't you download the mod on TesNexus at all?

Anyways, here's this week's update, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37120. Tomorrow it will be on http://www.moddb.com/mods/dibellas-watch too, but it needs to be authorized first.

This week, I've been doing some quest-writing. The first three chapters of the Main Storyline, which tells the tale of the Deadtree War, are now in place and playable. I've also made an entire new village with a castle and everything that needs to be.

Looks really good; very nice work.

Looking forward to playing this as soon as I finish something else and create some esm/esp space.

That was not I meant, but that doesn't matter now since I've downloaded beta5 on Nexus so I guess a little quick check of the links wouldn't hurt. ;)

Excellent, Glorfindel. You can track the mod on both ModDB and TesNexus. Version One Point O will be ready well before skyrim.

Good to hear you got it OK, Leonardo.

Let me show you some screenshots of the recent progress.

http://i889.photobucket.com/albums/ac96/Antiscamp/Oblivion2011-03-0622-37-18-01.jpg

In the cold North of the Continent we find landscapes like these.

http://i889.photobucket.com/albums/ac96/Antiscamp/Oblivion2011-03-0422-21-11-29.jpg

This is Castle St. Graecius in the Western Deadlands. The west is infested by bandits and really scary creatures. The only civilized outpost there, is this castle, which is also the home of a unit of crusaders.

http://i889.photobucket.com/albums/ac96/Antiscamp/Oblivion2011-03-1200-56-01-34.jpg

Scarley Village is a picturesque little backwater, far from the cries of war and the front lines in the Deadtree War. The stor of the Deadtree War makes the backbone of the Main Storyline and the first three chapters of that story are now ready and playable with Beta 06 of the mod.

http://i889.photobucket.com/albums/ac96/Antiscamp/Oblivion2011-03-1200-58-37-23.jpg

There's also a castle in connection to that village. In a future version of the mod, you'll be able to rule this Scarleyshire like a medieval landlord, actually!

http://i889.photobucket.com/albums/ac96/Antiscamp/Beta06Map.jpg

This is what the continent looks like in Beta 06 with most of the locations marked. The continent is actually growing by every update, and substantial updates are released on a weekly basis, so keep tracking and following the mod!

A lot of real dedicated, sweaty, hard work has gone into this, people, all done in true love and admiration of the Elder Scrolls Series.

LOL! Don't feel bad. You can safely wait until version One Point O, if you want, to get the whole deal. Actually, there will be sewers too. My mega-city is full of wells that will function as entrances to sewers when they're done :)

Here I have a video presentation of the mod for you, showing some settlements and nice landscapes found in Dibella's Watch. It also shows off how huge the continent is.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWpaROCbHJ0

The music was created by Zero-Project, who I worked together with on another project last year too, and this particular song is inspired by that (Fairy Tale for Civilization).

And here we go with Beta 07.2. Lots of fun stuff in this version. Among other things, I've built an entire new town in the east called Port Constanze. I built this moderately sized town with NPC's with working AI, new meshes and interiors and exteriors in place in just under a week! I'm getting scary good at this, because that process used to take me months before. Enjoy Beta 07.2.

The video was just awesome. I wonder what town was there just after the camera passed the flames?

Thanks mate and I will give it a go later. :celebration:

Thanks! That's Shardville burning. The Deadtree Clan has attacked Shardville in a surpirse attack, beginning the Main Storyline Quest which deals with the war against the Deadtree and their allies. The MQ will take the player all over the world of Dibella's Watch, but I've only completed the first few stages of it in the mod as yet.
