Did I add this mod correctly? (Connary's Textures)

If you aren't familiar with Connary's Textures mod, I heard about it from http://btb2.free.fr/morrowind.html. I followed the instructions to a "t". I downloaded the two files. Converged them into one. Placed the "Connary's BSA v2.bsa" file into the Data Files folder. I then got stumped with what to do next (even though I took a stab at it). This is what the web site said:

The file itself is a .rar archive that's broken up into two parts due to its massive size. If you're unfamiliar with two-part .rar archives, just stick them both in the same folder and unpack them as you would a normal archive. To make things as easy as they can possibly be for you, Connary's textures exist as a single .bsa archive file. Just stick it in the data files directory and then just open up your Morrowind.ini file and locate the following lines:
? [Archives]
? Archive 0=Tribunal.bsa (assuming that Tribunal is installed)
? Archive 1=Bloodmoon.bsa (assuming that Bloodmoon is installed)
And then just add an entry for the new .bsa archive that you just downloaded and placed in your data files directory. If you can't figure out how to do that from here, then your stupid ass doesn't deserve the awesomeness of Connary's textures.

So, the next step says to add an entry for the new .bsa archive in Morrowind's .ini file. Fair enough. So, I opened the .ini file, and because there was no specifics on what to enter, this is what I entered in this order:
[Archives]
Archive 0=Tribunal.bsa (existing line)
Archive 1=Bloodmoon.bsa (existing line)
Archive 2=Connary's BSA v2.bsa (new entry)

Again, I took a stab at this seeing that the author of the site never told anyone what to enter, just that "If you can't figure out how to do that from here, then your stupid ass doesn't deserve the awesomeness of Connary's textures."

I don't know if I was supposed to enter "Archive 2=" or just simply put "Connary's BSA v2.bsa"???? Or maybe something else?

I then opened the "morrowind launcher/data file" and did not see anything new added. I played the game and all seemed normal.

Did I do this right? Did I add the new textures? Thank you in advance.

That is the correct way to add a BSA file. You will only see them listed in the ini file, not in the launcher.

I don't know why it wouldn't be working for you, though.

No comment on that website's lovely instructions.

EDIT: Possibly if you used steam, the vanilla bsa files might be dated to load after the connary bsa. Code patch MIGHT fix that. I'm going to let someone else confirm or deny that for you.

Are you running the Steam version, by any chance?

I am not running a steam version. It is the GOTY version downloaded from GameStop online.

I don't know if it's working or not. When I opened the game, it did seem a little different to me--crisper if you will. But I don't want a placebo effect, I simply want to know if I did it correctly. Thanks for confirming I did enter the correct lines in the .ini file.

i think the gamestop version has some known problems with .bsa archiving. ill look around here for a recent thread on the issue, it had something to do with someone who downloaded kingpix's MSGO, MGE wasnt working with it.

Install the Code Patch. http://morrowind.nexusmods.com/mods/19510/
It will automatically redate the BSAs for you when you run it.
That should solve your problem. Then go in game and see if anything is updated.

Everyone should use the Code Patch anyways. Some essential fixes in there, and all the changes are optional.

MSGO has nothing to do with the Steam/Gamestop BSA problem. That is an unrelated problem from a little mistake by KP with the beta testing.

edit: oh, I see your reply below, G'd Up. Ok makes sense.

no it was the fact that the gamestop version was doing some funky stuff with the way they distributed the game. im trying to find the game but no luck, i know dragon32 had the answer.

EDIT: found the thread, thought it was on a different issue than the one you're having, still worth a look since you have the gamestop version you'll know what you're up against mayne.

try pluto's method and failing that, maybe its just the impulse version of the game is outta whack.

The way I understand it, Steam or otherwise, if it's a download, the date of the files will be set to the date that you downloaded them, as I understand it. This causes problems for a lot of people because mods load in first and then get overwritten by the vanilla content because it loads in order of date. Hopefully code patch fixes it in the same way it would fix the steam download.
