Did Anyone Else Notice this...

On an "updated" bethblog post shows: "Among the unqiue weapons added are the Bozar, an all-powerful 5.56mm Light Machine Gun, the Smitty Special, an overwhelming variant of the Plasma Caster, the MFC Cluster mine, the Esther, a unique Mini Nuke Launcher, and the ridiculous Nuka Breaker – a new melee weapon made from a Nuka-Cola neon sign. In total Gun Runners’ Arsenal adds 27 new weapons, 40 new weapon modifications for existing weapons, 18 new new recipes, and 29 new ammo types — including the 12 Ga. Dragon’s Breath, Hive Missiles, and 25mm/40mm Plasma Grenades. Finally, Gun Runners’ Arsenal also adds more than 20 all-new challenges to the Mojave Wasteland."

Oh and it's found here: http://www.bethblog.com/index.php/2011/08/25/lonesome-road-coming-september-20th-couriers-stash-and-gun-runners-arsenal-one-week-later/

This must be new, since nobody else has commented on this yet!! :fallout:

Replying to a question on Forum Spring, Mr. Sawyer said this:

Yes. There will be new weapons for every skill category. All of the new items are available at merchants *only*. The weapons are a mix of the following:

* Unique versions of core weapons (e.g. the Nuka-Breaker is essentially a unique Rebar Club and the Bozar is a unique Light Machine Gun).

* Brand new weapons that have no current base equivalent in the game. Many of these are created with recipes.

* "GRA" versions of core game weapons that previously had no mods. E.g. if in the core game a weapon (for example, fictional weapon Super Laser) had no mods, you may see that merchant has something like Super Laser (GRA). The (GRA) signifies that it can be altered by mods with the same weapon name and (GRA) suffix -- e.g. Super Laser Focus Optics (GRA). The (GRA) mods will not work with weapons of the same name from the core game. Sorry, just a limitation of how we had to structure the data due to potential .esm/.esp conflicts.

* Non-unique versions of unique core game weapons that had no base version

A katana? Really? Sigh. Another piece of media that overly romanticizes the katana. There are other swords out there, and quite a few of them are better. I guess they add it so that people can run around being the ninja they want to, even though katana's were used by Samurai.

I'm sure they only added it because of all the people who complained about the lack of swords.

It's probably for the types of people who download those anime-type mods to their game so they can pretend to be ...whatever.

There was a Wakizashi in Fallout 2, I don't imagine this being too bad. They could be changing it to become a wakizashi though....you never know...

Yeah, I saw that last night. I also just posted something about his formspring comments in the other thread. Looks like info is leaking out in dribs and drabs. That is good. With something like this, you gotta sell it a bit so that people know they're getting something they want, rather than guessing that their money will be well spent. I think they should just release a list of all the new weapons. No spoilers, like which ones are craftable or how you get your hands on the, just a list of the names.

Holy Moly! :) 40 new mods for existing weapons, and plasma 25mmand 40mm grenades. This Plasma Caster seems like a winner, TeaBoneGuy will this satisfy you?

Lol, no. I'll play as the Black Mamba or Bill, from Kill Bill.

I always wanted an energy weapon that replaces the Holorifle in versatility.

Maybe the Smitty Special will do that.

Again I'm very impressed with the amount of content were getting for a mere "weapons pack". I think this will make a great addition to my new full playthrough including all of the dlc's before the fall swarm arrives I've been looking forward to a playthrough with all the dlc's but was afraid it would be a little stale this being my sixth but all the new weapons and ammo types should make it feel fresh again.
