Hello everyone, now as the title suggests I am hoping to host a Skyrim DiD competition among the users here, in this competition all of us will be given a start date, on that start date we are to all create a new character (Do not delete your current ones ofc!) and we will all compete to see who will get to the highest level, most kills, most quests completed, the whole lot! (This competition is still in its beta stages and I do not have a set formula for coming up with the winner as of yet, but however its simple, when you die, your stats will be compared to the others who are either still alive or have already died, and when either everyone has died or when the person left alive passes all the deceased players the competition will be over! Now we will still hopefully get a leaderboard going if possible to keep up with who is in 1st place or maybe even the top 3 or so.
Now the rules to this thing - Obviously its DiD, once you die (as long as its not due to a glitch or IRL emergency) your character is done, in which case you should post your total stats and you will be updated in the original post of the future thread, and then stacked up compared to others. Now more specific rules are still in the works as I have said its still beta in the concept, and this is mainly a thread to get players to join, as there is no point in starting if no one has joined yet.
Another rule focused towards PC players is you can not use any mods that give you a clear advantage over a vanilla player, DLC's are fine. If you have mods like the majority of players here do, that is fine, it just can't be any that give you an obvious advantage (like your character does more damage or has more defense etc.) Now if you have a mod that gives you an advantage, the only solution I can offer is if you PM me your specific mod, and we will work out a difficulty adjustment to balance out the mod with vanilla players. (I am doing this as I know some mods interfere with previously saved characters and we are not going to mess up your save files!)
Something else that is prohibited is reloading saves, as long as you were not glitched, you can't reload saves to change dialogue choices or level up choices or anything else. So if you accidentally killed your follower (Yes followers are allowed!) then I am sorry but you can not reload a save and bring them back, you'll just have to go on without them. Also, I am still debating whether to make this a rule, but maybe we will not allow FT, to make this competition even more competitive, and difficult for all of us .This will still allow carriages, but no map based FT at all.
Now if you wish to join, in this thread I would like you to post that you are interested in joining and then post your character name, gender, and race (along with any other details you'd like to share). Now do not make the character as of yet until we have a date for when the competition begins, but you can plan it out or if you'd prefer wait until the competition starts to share your characters information.
I'd like to send out a special thanks to MrBattleAxe for helping me come out with this thread and these ideas, and remember, this is only a fun competition to entertain us with a new twist on our Skyrim playing, and for those who are waiting on ESO this should help you until you start playing that, I hope now after reading you will consider joining! (Thanks for reading!)
