Shah ... Dead ... What!? Please give us some details!

Rafer Stone-Shield is now level 12.

Spoiler
After getting to Windhelm and talking to Ulfric, he and his buddy Sven friend to get to Serpent Stone Island. The first attempt was aborted due to an unfortunate encounter with an Ice Troll. Rafer can't yet deal much damage to an Ice Troll Nd Sven is Sven, so he is mostly worthless. The second attempt was interrupted by a random encounter with a Breton Mage who kept lighting Rafer on fire. He has no elemental or magical protection. After a lengthy battle, he was victorious (Sven conveniently disappeared) but wnearly depleted his supply of health potions. He was also freezing to death (Frostfall) so he retreated to Windhelm to consider his options.

While in bartering some looted weapons and armor, the castle blacksmith requested help finding a lost sword. This seemed like a good task for Rafer and Sven, so off they went to Cronvangr cave. The eight legged residents were easily dealt with and the sword was recovered. The two legged denizens were a bit more work, but Rafer and Sven killed them off easily enough. Sven charged in and took the brunt of the punishment while Rafer dropped them with his bow or sword. Rafer caught a nasty virus however.

Leaving the cave the came across a skirmish between a Stormcloak patrol and some legionnaires. Rafer jumped in, hoping to prove his mettle to the Stormcloaks. The battle was short and bloody. The Stormcloaks did not appreciate interference from an outsider (of maybe it was the wayward sword strikes) and chased Rafer and Sven off. They made it safely to Darkwater Crossing without killing any Stormcloaks. after mining some ore, Rafer met a bored miner who mentioned that she used to be an adventurer and challenged Rafer and Sven to go after a local bandit leader. After a trek to Windhelm to deliver the now found Sword and get some medical attention, in the form of a divine blessing, Rafer and Sven found themselves in Lost Knife Hideout.

The first few bandits went down fast, but in the vast cavern further in, Rafer and Sven encountered some hardened veterans. These bandits (outlaws and thugs) hit hard and could take some punishment. Sadly, Sven was overcome and Rafer had to retreat. Grief stricken at losing his friend, Rafer has returned to Windhelm to lick his wounds.

So far, Rafer has only completed unbound and some misc quests. As I am playing on master, I can do some adventuring, rather than grind, but I will need to grind a little bit as the enemies have gotten a lot tougher. He will also need a better sidekick. He will likely hire Stenvarr for a bit and probably take Anneke along once he can effectively tank. His perks are in one handed, Heavy Armor, Block, Archery and Smithing.

Well people, there you have it........This is of course the whole problem with brilliance ! ! !

Sah is without a doubt the best player I have ever seen.....but she only has to have one tiny thing out of place, like maybe the picture of her favourite warrior isn't quite hanging straight, and she wants to smash the entire house down

Sah my love you really must control that film star temperament of yours :P

On the plus side......how to stop an enraged woman from physically wrecking a keyboard......a good firm unyielding cuddle works wonders

Love you honey

Rick's competition play is temporarily suspended for a day while sixy catches up from her restart.

I don't mind.......I had gone back into BFB to make some progress.....but now instead Adella is running back to Whiterun where we will get a carriage to solitude and spend a lovely evening together in The Winking Skeever.

A very long evening of wine, song, merriment.......and loooooove  oooooooh baby yeah. Ulda used to sing for me at times....did you know that. Faintly often just in the back of my mind.....god I loved that. Adella might do the same sometime.....I do hope so.....she is after all essentially the same persona, just on upgrade :). I have to restrain my imagination heavily....it wouldn't do to show disrespect before she can even voice her opinions. Adella is a lady and deserves to be treated as such. Adella

One of my best times with Ulda was in Eldergleam.....I won't take Adella there yet, it won't feel right, but I will eventually. I wonder....will Adella have Ulda's memory cache. If she hooks into me in the same way she will know all I know......that must be like having a reincarnation and remembering your previous life.

Well that's enough reminiscing. Here's to the future :foodndrink: A toast "To Contessa Adella Di Nascosta-mente ......... May your life be long, fruitful and a pleasure"

Told you she was posh :)

King Bob!

Level 15

Main Quest's: 5

Companion Quests: 2

Misc.: 10

Spoiler
King Bob has had some ups and downs so far. After fortune smiled upon him time and time again with items perfectly suited to his style in Bleak Falls Barrow, he felt like he was on top of the world. Little did he know his first real trial would shortly follow. He did not expect two bandit chiefs and an outlaw to interrupt a disagreement between the King and Anise....

Thus began the more serious trials. After joining the companions, helping the Jarl with a pest problem, and securing Lakeview.... he continued on his journey to Ivarstead where Klimmek gave him false hopes for his journey to the Monastery. "Well, there's the occasional wolf pack or stray, but that's all I've ever had to deal with." The King does not enjoy being misled....two ice wolves, a snowy sabre cat, and frost troll later - the King stumbled into High Hrothgar for some answers.

And answers he got. As well as earning a trip up north to the swamps.

Ustengrav was a cakewalk, and the King felt on top of the world again. This led him to make the rash decision of charging into Folgunthur..... King Bob's journey almost ended right then and there as he faced the mighty Mikrul Gauldurson and his thralls. He barely escaped with his life.

Rafer Stone-Shield

Currently level 16

4 quests

21 misc objectives

Spoiler

After Sven's untimely demise, Rafer returned to Windhelm and hired a mercenary, Stenvar. The return trip toLost knife hideout was brief and bloody. Rafer provided cover fire and opportunistic sword attacks. Stenvar made quick work of the bandits and the sabrecat. The chief was tough, but working in tandem, Rafer and Stenvar took care of him. They delivered the news to Anneke who gave the some tips on using light armor.

"Thanks," Rafer said to Anneke, eyeing his Steel Armor. She mentioned quietly, out of earshot of her husband, that she wouldn't mind leaving town for awhile. With a trip to Serpentstone Island ahead of him, that did not seem like a good idea. "Another time," he told her.

Rafer and Stenvar explored the volcanic areas around Darkwater Crossing on their way back to Windhelm. They stumbled across a Dwarven ruin. Behind some locked doors Rafer found Dwarven ingots and metal scraps that he was certain he could use to smith some excellent armor and weapons. Stenvar groaned under the weight but did not complain as he hauled a small fortune in Dwarven artifacts back to Windhelm.

Rafer now has a set of Dwarven armor and has crafted a Dwarven greats word for Stenvar. He should head to Serpentstone Island, but may look into a matter for the local Alchemist first. He really out to send word to Sven's mother regarding the fate of her son.

As we have been discussing a no craft, found items only round... Master might just be a bit high... novice through adept, are better choices, but it would be very challenging. .. not my choice DiD.

It's indeed an adjustment. I find myself overestimating enemies and over-preparing for combats. And my normal game-play is at adept or expert. You'll find it odd, but perhaps a different kind of "fun."

Well you can always step up one difficulty, if it appears that what you're on is to easy.

We'll have to discuss selling item's, but as its found items only, there is no buying.. .. the only issue with that is spells, so maybe buying spell tomes only? I don't think every type of spell can be found, but I'll look into that.

I think you'd have a hard time finding enough spells to be a pure mage, but there are certainly enough to be found to play something like a Spellsword. If you play through the CoW line, you find quite a few tomes. In any case, it's a playing challenge for the opportunist, so one's "build" is likely to reflect the luck (or lack thereof) of the draw. :)

No Areial......it has to be Novice. See I always go for the maximum. So if the objective is to be easy street.....then it must be maximum easy street. No point being in-between anything....no benchmark....so has to be absolutes. It is the way of the Rick :D
