DiD Competition Round 10

Post » Tue Feb 16, 2016 6:57 am

Grits, that is an awful way to go. Although I am chuckling imagining him screaming "novice" all the way down.

Rafer update:

Level 15

8.5 hours played

1 Questline completed (Companions)

17 quests completed

19 misc objectives completed

7 main quests

3 side quests

1 Dark Brotherhood

Rafer is now the Harbinger of the Companions. He is relaxing inside The Frozen Hearth, preparing to make the treacherous walk to Windhelm. From theirs he will take a carriage to Whiterun and walk to Riverwood to meet the Horn thief. He is wielding Wuuthrad, along with a silver greatsword and an Orcish warhammer of thunderbolts (which he now has 2 of). He has a Galdur Amulet fragment (+30 health) and also a necklace of fortify two handed damage +20. No other new gear of note.

As you can tell from above, Rafer has been busy. He killed a lot more Silverhand, went through Ustengrav, followed by Folgunthur. He picked up the Lord stone at some point. No that Rafer has Wuuthrad he will pursue the main quest in order to bring it to the "Party!"

Rafer is off to a faster start than expected. I will likely not be able to keep this pace up.

so far the game has been very cruel and annoying, has only give this one some braces of 1 x handed damage 15%, this one had to take maters into her own hands and got all the items below

Thieves Guild armor set

Mace of Molag Bal

Ring of Namira

Necromancers amulet

I'd rather do Skyrim DiD on Legendary, naked, than be in the same house as my mother when she is in labour

R.I.P. Atul

Orsimer

Level 15

She fell to the vile necromancer Malkoran in the Temple of Meridia

Gonna drop out instead of re-roll for now, folks. Don't have enough free time right now to invest in DiD competitions. :(

On a related note, has anyone else ever been just destroyed by Malkoran? I had a 40% resist frost amulet, and chugged a draught of magic resist before the fight and his ice storm spell took me from just shy of full health to dead in one hit. :brokencomputer:

Kane, I find that Malkoran is a wildly variable opponent. Sometimes my characters don’t even get through the door before they’re flung back dead against the stairs. Other times he’s just a regular mage boss. RIP Atul.

Thanks ladies. Kinda bummed that Atul fell, I was really enjoying her playthrough. I'll probably re-load her as a RP and craft a story around her. My wife was bummed too when she died.

She was rooting for me, lol.

LoL, I hear ya... I haven't had the time to play, even now I'm getting ready for work ( eating breakfast ). The only reason I still have my Character story to write is that I am a bit past what I am writing ... but I have even almost caught up there.

I have also found Malkoran to be highly variable. Usually he easy, especially if I have the right resists. Once in a while though, he is a beast.

Rafer has just dealt with one of my most problatic bosses, Warlord Gathrik. Salma and Beem Ja did not survive the encounter, however. I think I caught them both with Unrelenting Force while fighting Gathrik. Gathrik had beaten them down and then Brelyna finished them off. Rafer was sad to see them fall, but he is stylish in steel plate and has the battle axe of fiery souls!

A Salma death is often bittersweet, especially at lower levels. The wasted youth, but that armor! :celebration: Congrats on the victory, Rafer!

Malkoran won't have a chance against Adella......she wouldn't make the mistake of going against him badly prepared. Even on Legendary :ooo:

Hmm lets see

This is how she will pan out before seeing to him......

Armour at 800 plus with health regeneration.................check

Mace with fire enchant at 350 damage plus..................check

Potions of resist fire, frost and shock at 95%.................check

Shield with block runner and Fortify block......................check

Adella's only problem is deciding which humiliating way to defeat him, slow and painful is best....

Maybe level 3 Marked for Death....then just sit back and watch....she can be a bit like that at times :cold:

Adella thinks Malkoran could have many uses after the fight, umbrella stand, lamp holder, ashtray, how about boot scraqer?

Shame he'll be dead really

Yeah. Adella isn't too worried about ol' Malkoran, in fact she's looking forward to it :D

Yep.....watched em all. "Liked" everything....thumbs up all over :)

So....one of the ES required by mr priest was the Dragonrend scroll? Is that it.....cos The last two were essentially the MQ in Blackreach. Is that Bethesda doubling up on quest locations? Use the same scroll for dawnguard as you need for the MQ?

Ooooh....skimpy armours again Sah, always a pleasure  Sorry...,I mean " very nice" :)

Hmmmm.....why didn't Serana have fangs.....she could bite me anytime and she wouldn't even have to say please

Q....can you summon Arvak back in Skyrim....the 'soul' guy said he's OK in the light....a clue I thought!

Very well fought out as always and very well thought out as always :D

To answer your questions Rick:

Elder Scroll

Spoiler
Yes, the Dragon Scroll is the same scroll as is used to learn Dragonrend

Serana - I think (and I could be wrong here) that no female character has visible vampire fangs, but the males do especially the beast races.

Arvak

Spoiler
Arvak can be summoned anywhere you could have an ordinary horse once you have his spell. So yes to running around skyrim in general, no you can't summon him inside Bleak Falls Barrow (or similar)

Wow thanks mate.....so if you already have the Dragon ES clearly no need to go through Alftand and Blackreach again then. If you do DG first then you have it already for the MQ part. Ok. I get it. That was lazy on Beth's part though...might as well not bothered with it for DG and just used the one Scroll.

Arvaks.....well....what can I say a summon'able steed. Great! But that might upset Shadowmere

Cheers for the info

Rick

Edit....vamp fangs on girls = sixy :D

Only side hitch with the Dragon Scroll is once you're finished with it for the MQ, you can sell it to the College of Winterhold. So then if you go to get it for Dawnguard you have to buy it back, no matter if you're Archmage or not.

I'll go be quiet in a corner again now, seeing as i'm not involved in the competition :)
