Argh, for some reason I thought this was a 40 hour round. I guess I really did need these new reading glasses. I’m afraid I can’t swing 48 hours.

Good luck, runners! :bolt:

It was 40 hr's, so you can tuck the glasses back in....lol I'll probably be running at 40 hr's or less myself.

Sah, from the first post in this thread with the rules:

Meaning I think that after 48 hours of play your contest time is done.

When I looked at the rules I didn't see a cutoff date. I thought that originally there was a two-week tine frame? If we have more than two weeks to get our time in I could probably go the extra 8 hours!

That's up to MrBA.. I'm going to try and get the 40 hr's...might be able to get the extra 8 if it's longer than 2 week's. But yes 2 week's was the time limit.

Yes, this was why the original suggestion for this round was for very short hours. My hope was that we could draw in more competitors and give a fighting chance to players who don't have a lot of time to play.

My original suggestion, I think, was for a two hour average limit per day, which, in two weeks, would be only 28 hours. Three weeks, similar to previous contest lengths, would have been 42 hours, and that may be where the "40 hour" thing started.

I was very surprised to see 48 hours. I think we are again skewing the competition in favor of people who have lots of hours to play.

Edit: Maybe we need to have a separate "series" of competitions for people who only have short hours to play. It seems that the tradition here is to favor those with a lot of free time.

I would much rather see this limited to two hours (average) per day.

The couple hour limit would be nice in my case also.

Between work, and fixing up the house and other such things I'm usually lucky if I get any chance to play during the week.

I would ask MR BA to change the limit... I'm not sure why he changed it to 48 hr's. I would be better off also with a three week time frame with a 2 hr average per day... which I won't make, but it would seem more fair.

Sorry 'bout that... Thats what you get for posting tired and sleepy (I'll be editing stuff, sorry)

Yes, its 40hours (I don't know where the 48 came from) but its 3hours per day.

Oh, and do remember that I came here with a day or two left to organize things :)

Do tell me if you want anything changed or if you don't agree with something

Thanks for clearing that up, Areial and Mr. BA! I can swing 40 hours, or at least close enough to go for it.

glargg, and Kane, I'm up for a 28 hour checkpoint in this round if you like. Just see how far we all got and those with more time can keep going to 40. I agree that time limits have more appeal and might accommodate (and interest) more players.

Aerial hon.....what does that mean you close tonight?

Does it mean YOU are responsible for shutting the store at the end of the evenings trading?

Or

Does it mean your store is shutting down after tonight.....i.e. A closing down sale :(

And.....you misspelled tonight!!! Only I write that see....you have to go 'tonite' :P

I must write to you soon.....getting Areial withdrawal symptoms :hugs:

Oh and good luck in the round :)

I'll go for the 28, too, and see if I have more time than that. Anything over two hours a day is tough for people who have other things going on in their lives.

I hope you didn't take my words as a criticism of you, MrBA. I was just responding to the change in the situation. :)

The past few competitions have favored players who have a lot of playing time. It's no big deal that it works out that way some of the time, but I think it's pretty clear that it's driving away potential players. Three+ hours a day is a lot of playing time for people with family and/or school/career pressure.

I have too much time in my hands

How's about two hours per day...per competition. Run seven separate competitions concurrently then every one gets two hour games and I still get my 15 hours per day Skyrim fix yea! :D

40 total. Skill books are fine, perks are fine. Just no crafting, buying or selling.

CoW entrance spell is the spell you are required to cast to first enter the college (unless you enter as Dragonborn.) It's randomly chosen, and some spells may not be found in the world. So that's the one exception to "buying."
