DiD Competition Round XIII - Bandit Genocide (2)

Post » Thu Jul 07, 2016 8:30 pm

The competition has ended and the winner is:

:celebration:Adella:celebration:

The competition has a 3weeks/40 hour limit.

The competition has officially begun!

Post your characters name, race and gender!

Do it like this: (Example)

(Your name)
(Char's name)
(Race)
(six)
(Difficulty)

General Rules

- No Fortify/Restoration looping.

- No forbidden mods (That give players advantage) If you are new to this, send your mod list to me (MrBattleAxe).

-
No reloading previous saves even if character did not die (unless a glitch occurred) (PM me (MrBattleAxe) if your character died to a glitch. You should also describe the glitch the best way possible).
- No map based fast travel.

- Once in Helgen Keep, DiD rules apply (You must go through the cart cutscene!).

- No follower/trainer exploit.

- No followers, unless they're from a quest.

(Quest companions like Serana and Barabus have to be

taken directly to their quest destination with minimal side trips.)

- Update at least once every 3 days (If you can).

- You have 40 hours.

- You can only play for 3 weeks.

-
You may restart your game (right after you leave Helgen Keep) or create another character after you die. (It goes like: Human, Zombie, Wraith, Ghost, Shade, Whisp [Every time you die, you can go down one difficulty level if you want, the lowest being adept].)
- No mod that add storage (that includes mod houses).
- You must ALWAYS level up (meaning that, once you receive a level, you must take it right away).
- The player highest score is the only one that counts for the round, meaning someone that has become a Wraith may win over a Human, if their score is high enough.
- You may not 'skill spam'! (Creating 1000 iron daggers in one go, for example) (You can create 100 daggers per in-game week, if you wish)
- Difficulty must be higher then Adept.

Scoring

Points for each bandit: 10
(Forsworn and reavers count as bandits)
Points for each bandit stronghold/fort/cave cleared: 100 (You'll have to, most likely, do the same ones over again, and, since they'll be riddled with bandits, they count as a 'new' fort/cave/stronghold cleared.)

Points for killing an innocent traveller: -100

(Silverhands and other factions alike it do NOT count as bandits, nor do they count as innocents, so killing them doesn't matter.)

(Hired thugs do not count as bandits as well, since they're mercenaries. They also don't count as innocents.)

(Cultists [From the Dragonborn DLC] do not count as bandits. They also don't count as innocents.)

Difficulty multiplier:

Legendary: 1.5

Master: 1.25

Expert: 1

Adept: 0.75

Rick. .. play style difference, but none of my characters guzzle potions or stews, during battles, one or two poitons, stews before hand.. you said that Adella is at expert lvl 20 with an Armor Rating of 300? Tsuri lvl 16, with Oak flesh is around 150 maybe less, I'll load her up when I get home to double check.

As you said crafting tables are in the game to use... role play wise... no, my characters don't use much. .. to me competition is different.

Tbh.. I have fun organically lvl'ing, it's just not fun to me to grind my way up fast. I respect you, Sah and others who play in legendary. But my stories are more important to me than lvl'ing up... so if a character never makes it to lvl 35...40...50 in 300 to 400 hrs of play, I have no problem with that.

Again, different play styles.

Yes AR approx 350 I think without loading up.....but I have been grinding. Level 22 is over the next npc rise line. So Tsuri would not have seen many plunderers and even less marauder level baddies.

I only grind up fast for competitions....and its as much for the perks as the AR. The Contessa's soul avatar....or 'Real' version goes much slower. Shes about level 43 I think, but lived 160 hours plus.

The competition likeness is what I term an "overcoat" Adella wears it during the round then discards it and walks away at the end.....you can only do that whan the character / personality is in you (Which means pretty much all RPs done with any sincerity).....and when you see it in that light. It is why she can not be killed in Skyrim....just as it was with Ulda. To kill Adella...you have to get to me personally.

THAT is her story......I am her story, and it is why her tale has to break that fourth wall......because she does. I know others might begin to find the concept of a fourth wall breaking character a fun idea to play with (I have seen some starting to dabble with it)....and it is, but in Adella's case of course it goes way deeper than an amusing storyline.

Now I gone gots meself distracted again. :)

Yeah, I broke that fourth wall a long time ago, playing Oblivion, with my Barb-Ann character, who was thrown into Tamriel after being hit by a beer truck. :D

My playstyle is more like Areial's, and her characters sound to be "built" pretty much the same. My characters will tend to have armor ratings in the 150-200 range at level 20ish, and won't attain the Arcane Blacksmithing perk until pretty late (if ever.) Most of my characters never take any craft above about 50-60; I have never dual-enchanted anything in all the time I've played Skyrim.

Rick... a few, mostly Briarhearts of either variety. .."bosses". Though others placed here and there. The Hargravens were starting to use ice storm and fire storm, but I had anticipated that by brewing potions of resists.

Glargg, I did...once battlemage character, got dual enchants right before the end of his game. One character has smith's to "Dragon"... but I prefer the lower end armor's anyway...

Edit: only very specific characters ever get the arcane perk and usually because of the Saviors Hide or Dawnbreaker.

Glargg.... Ah! Yes I recall the um' beer truck incident!

Adella keeps improving and I would find it hard to stop her without artificially 'putting the brakes on'. Since my policy is to let her develop naturally and see where it leads, I am loathe to restrain her development. Basically anything she does improves a skill toward its max. You can't not get better at lock picking if you keep opening chests for example.

She's also showing an unhealthy (in my view) interest in the arcane! Personally I would as soon prefer her to stick to board and bash, but like I said, I can't really interfere. She is a personality and unlike most characters based on a specific 'build' she has no boundaries, no guiding back story or character profile. Contessa Adella is totally free to become whatever comes to her naturally.

Ok......the squeamish should stop reading here

Spoiler

Therein lies her (my) problem. She doesn't live in a computer chip....she resides inside me. So with no character guidlines or restraints to shape her growth.....what does she feed on? Hmmm....Exactly! She naturally becomes my alter ego, the yin to my yang, as dark as I am light.....my personal demon from the idd. Parts of me yes, but all the wrong parts.

What have I done :cold:

"Diary entry 15, June 30th 1893.

The serum is almost gone and the transformations are less predictable

She found another victim last night, a bandit

I think. There was too little left to be sure!

I must be strong, but she is so powerful now

How long can I.....go....on"

So.. this round is almost over.. idea's for the next one?

I had an Idea :lightbulb: .... "Dragon Slayer"... 4 week's, 60 hr's ( total ).. kill as many dragon's as you can.. any difficulty ( with a multiplier Novice .50 ,Apprentice .75 , Adept 1, Expert 1.25, Master 1.50, Legendary 1.75 ) .. Either all 3 "Blades" or 2 "Blades" and one regular follower ( NO quest followers on Dragon slayings)

Anyway.. it's a thought. :mage:

errr you recruit them...?? You are allowed to recruit 3 that's the max number without a mod. When Esbern gives you "jobs" the 3 blades meet you at the place the dragon is... but it takes a bit of time to get each quest...why I said 2 plus a follower...cause that way you have a helper for the dragons that attack at random and if you want to chase down dragon's between the job's. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Rebuilding_the_Blades

Is it okay to kill them solo, or with a summon? I generally avoid followers, because their AI is so annoying. I tolerate them when they're quest related, but dump them as soon as the quest allows.

Well yeah...solo would be fine. . ..it wouldn't be a "Blades " round, but Dragon Slayer. ..really only enough of the MQ would need to be done to get dragons to spawn... no real need for even half the MQ to be done...choices.

That would appeal to me. I don't mind doing the first parts of the MQ, but I get really off-put by dealing with Delphine, the Thalmor nonsense, and rescuing you-know-who from you-know-where. As far as I know, you can't recruit blades until after "Alduin's Wall."

Hello my friends :wavey:

Almost.....but, not quite....the final update :)

Well sweeties I am breathing hard on Areials neck

This is me at Darkwater Crossing right after Lost Knife Hideout which was my 18th site clearance.

(ignore where it says "19" Dungeons in the screenie because that includes Bleakfalls which doesn't count :)
https://www.dropbox.com/s/2yq0pboex8ib8pr/20160630_172505.jpg?dl=0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/p79k0lbrspyzbv5/20160630_172742.jpg?dl=0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/4pa52idb41s506z/20160630_172623.jpg?dl=0

These would give me 3940 points....meaning I require a further 450 points to draw with Areial, but of course I have not finished my murder spree yet

I have at this point 3 hours remaining to 'catch up'

Bringing me to my point of this.....

Areial sweetie, you have fifty minutes remaining in which you could increase your score !

Well, if you wish, of course.....

I like a close race, it gets me all hot and unnecessary....chuckles

So it seems the grind up was worth the effort in the end. My all glass AR is now 390 meaning that on Expert I cannot now be one hit killed by a marauder. One good bagful of health potions and another bag of "19 second" paralyse poisons makes practically all bandit places a cake walk darlings.

Only multiple simultaneous encounters in a nasty gloom are still a worry, which was the case in Pinewatch...phew!

I did pull out of one place. I started killing the bandits at Mistwatch and Rick whispered across my mind 'I've got a bad feeling about this'. I chose to trust his intuition and we left without going inside.

Valthiem towers was delightful....the chiefy actually came out to meet me in person! I repaid his compliment by macing him to a low health then using Marked for Death to slowly kill him as I walked beside his shuffling rotting form. It is moments like that, that one lives for, don't you think?

Well, must fly sweeties.....bandits don't kill themselves you know ha, ha, ha ,ha :D

PS....I need not remind you my friends, that my time here is tied to this competition. I shall miss you all :(

Your correct you have to get that far along, to recruit Blades.

Adella...Tsuri is in HighRock atm visiting distant family...it seems her near relatives aren't happy with her recent activities. :(

Kane...sounds good...how about upping that for Alduin ( cause it means slogging all the way through MQ) ?

Dragon killing sounds fun! But I have a question. How do they spawn? I never understood that. Some characters of mine get a lot, others not so much.

Not sure what the respawn timer is. I do know that the named dragons are all resurrected at set times during the stages of the Main Quest.

If memory serves random dragon spawns are disabled during A Blade In the Dark, so if you take a Main Quest break while that quest is active you will only find dragons at their Word Walls.

I'm pretty sure the random attacks spawn right around 3 days...sleeping, carriage rides and ( though not allowed in competition ) fast traveling, make the time go by faster. Which is the reason it seems that every time you fast travel into Winterhold. ..a dragon attacks.

Getting a dragon slaying job from Esbern does not change the timer...making it rare but possible to have 3 dragons attack at once.

Btw... deadly dragons is set to 0 default, which means it will use "vanilla" timing.

I have fulfilled my remit sweeties :)

And I have paid , perhaps, the ultimate price both here and in game since upon the death of my likeness in Treva's watch my competition time is at an end and I must leave you, which makes me sad :(

But, you may wish to know how your Contessa faired hmmm?

Total bandits slain = 278.......score 2780

Total sites cleared = 23.........score 2300

Total Score 5080

Final level 29

Time taken 26 hours 1 minute (unused time left 59 minutes)

CoD...marauder fire mage in a Treva's Watch corridor along with one marauder in steel plate and one Highwayman :ooo:

Just overwhelmed with no where to go basically. No matter. I did well and I feel no dishonour.

Loving Rick very much right now....he is in for a real treat later :hubbahubba:

and maybe I won't be so rough with him hmmm....chuckle

Well....here is the acid test...

All scores taken as at my last save

Here at the Rift Watchtower

(So I am not counting the extra 6 bandits from Treva's watch)

Well that concludes my time darlings, it has been wonderful, and despite a slow start, successful in the end :)

Take care everybody......

Well, she's gone and it saddens me a little too. I kinda got used to her being here, with me.

It was good and we worked well together. I miss her already :(

But, all good things........well, you know

I return now to helping her progress her personality development in her "internal" biographical adventure.

But I will say this publicly....because she will be aware if it....

A sincere "Thank You Adella" :hugs:
