Did a DLC nerf smithing or fortify one handed?

Post » Sun Aug 10, 2014 7:54 am

I recall my old character on the original skyrim having about a 450 damage sword with four 44% one handed enchantments smithed with 100 smithing, a black smithing elixer potion and four 22% improve smithing enchantments (my game was glitched so I couldn't reach the standard 25% smithing enchantment).

Now with the legendary edition that adds Dawnguard, Dragonborn, and Hearthfire, I've made what should be a even better sword. I'm not lvl 81 yet on him as the previous guy but I still gave Max one handed and smithing skill and perks. I have four 45% one handed enchantments. I have a dragonbone sword (while the other guy had an ebony one) smithed with a black smithing elixer potion and four 28% improve smithing enchants. YET it's damage is only 370?!

Honestly if it HAS been nerfed I'm happy since enchanting, smithing, and alchemy were too OP anyway, but I'm afraid I'm suffering some other stupid glitch and I can't tolerate this unless I can confirm this is legit not some glitch. I definitely noticed iron daggers did not improve your smithing skill near as much as previously so was its effects nerfed too? Please someone confirm this for me if possible. Thanks.

the iron dagger method to farm your smithing lv was nerfed with an official patch. Not sure when but quite some time ago.

I know that I mean did the effects of smithing get nerfed since this sword I currently with my smithing and enchantments used on it should be more damage than the prior one before the add ons.

My smithing skill is 100 so this is not about a leveling question but the effects of smithing itself. Were they nerfed TOO or am I experiencing an unchangeable glitch as far too common in this game?

If you're on PC, you may have a mod that changes this. But AFAIK Smithing wasn't nerfed
