Did Dragonborn introduce a memory leak?

Post » Tue Oct 15, 2013 4:00 pm

I don't always crash, but when I do ...I'm usually in Solstheim.

I've crashed in other places ...usually after picking a lot of ingredients, but I'll crash in Solstheim for no reason repeatedly in a matter of minutes. Walking from Tel Mythrin to Raven Rock is 50/50. In fact it seems like the area in and around Tel Mythrin-Raven Rock-Miraaks Temple is the "Solstheirm Triangle". Crashes are much more frequent inside of that area.

Has anyone else noticed this?

It may have caused a memory leak especially in some notable locations like the thieves guild underground area. You may want to consider using the ENBboost file thing as well as a preferred ENB. This will raise your physical memory limit over 3.1gb and make crashing or freezing less likely to occur.

You also may want to consider using SKSE and then do the following.

"Go to skyrim>data>SKSE and create "SKSE.ini" and type:

[General]
ClearInvalidRegistrations=1

Save and close." Source - http://www.darkcreations.org/forums/topic/3752-skse-cleans-invalid-scripts-from-old-mods/

Doing this will delete invalid scripts left behind from mods which may cause save game bloat and memory leaks. It will eliminate the scripts over an extended amount of time. Always test on a fresh game save if this fix doesn't work for you. It's quite common for people to mess up their game saves permanently.

P.S. - I like the subtle Dos Equis reference.
