Did I influence a name in FO:NV Honest Hearts?

Post » Fri Aug 06, 2010 5:56 am

When Fallout: New Vegas originally came out, I posted the following topic to reddit's /r/gaming community:

http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/dt80r/i_hope_im_not_the_only_one_who_looked_for_the_two/

I stated, "I hope I'm not the only one who looked for the, "Two bears high fiving each other" option." for Doc Mitchell's ink-blot test. (http://i.imgur.com/8cNHQ.jpg)

Today, I was sent this by a fellow redditor: http://i.imgur.com/L8Jt5.jpg

Neat! Though I always thought that inkblot looked more like two pale monks in black robes praying.

I don't know, I saw a mod that put that in, dunno if you influenced it, but either way, it's a nod to alot of people on various forums saying that. Dunno what else to point out.

The innate armor-piercing power of energy weapons via ammo effects added in the 1.2 patch looks suspiciously like the one I made after I http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1141220-screenshot-evidence-that-overchargemaxcharge-means-nothing-to-dt/ that the over/maxcharge damage boost did nothing before armor negated the damage... :whistling:

I think someone else made suggestions to fix the svckiness of the service rifle that made it into the 1.3 patch as well.

If you did :foodndrink:

But I remember a topic way back about the ink blots and someone then also said "two bears high fiving."

My mod solution to the energy weapon armor piercing problem looks suspiciously like the one that they did in the official patch after I empirically revealed that the over/maxcharge damage boost did nothing before armor negated the damage... :whistling:

I think someone else made suggestions to fix the svckiness of the service rifle that made it into the 1.3 patch as well.

I would have to agree with you. And Mudhen also started the bus on the changes to the cowboy weapons. This all proves that Josh, et. al., listen to the fans, and when appropriate, take out concerns into account during design.

Found this on http://www.formspring.me/JESawyer

Two Bears High-Fiving is a reference to a popular mod for the opening ink blot tests from Doc Mitchell.
