This isn't game breaking or anything, just annoying. When I picked up the Left eye of the Falmer, I was not given the objective to give it to Delvin. I am a completionist, so I don't want to just get rid of it instead of giving it to Delvin for my shelf. I can drop it and sell it, so it doesn't appear as a quest item. Anyone know the console command to add the objective I need?

There may not be one. There are a large number of reports for quests that do not give proper objective updates, leaving you sort of hanging trying to figure out what to do. One person examined a body in a bandit hideout and was told to inform the family that you found the corpse. What family? Whose corpse is it? What?

Yes, but I went and talked to the guy i'm supposed to give it to, no dialogue option. I've read in several places that people have picked up the objective when they got the gem.

I have the same issue. Looting the eyes from the corpse did not even give me the quest to turn one in.

I tried reloading it a few times to loot them again, to no avail. It simply does not want to give me the quest. All the other larceny objectives have been fine for me.

You say you picked up the left eye..did you grab the other/right eye as well? If you didn't, that may be what the problem is.

I took both. No quest.

I wondered if maybe taking the skeleton key and getting the quest update for that was interrupting it somehow, so I even tried taking the key, then closing the loot menu, then looting the corpse again to get the eyes, but that didn't work. Also tried it the other way around, eyes first. No joy.

Right eye is supposed to be normal loot.

I also did not get the Left Eye quest to turn in to Delvin, although in my case it wasn't marked as a quest item either. It's currently decorating my Solitude home.

Having the same issue. Didn't get the quest to turn in the eye, no option when talking to him. Tried reloading before finish the main thiefs quest but still no quest to hand it in.

I also received no quest for the Left Eye, or the model ship, for that matter. (I didn't find it originally and had to go back for it) It makes me a little OCD that I can never fill the rest of the Larceny Shelf.

I did get a quest to give the eye to Delvin. But theres still a lot of space up on those shelves. I have a ship model,a bee statue,the eye, a candle stick, some vase, and the golden thing from the brewery. I also have bust on the desk. What else can i get?

I did not get the quest to do this either - I picked up both and they both appeared to be normal items.
Sold them to a random Thieves Guild fence for 1500 each, if I recall correctly. Tried speaking to Delvin - but didn't get the option to give/sell either of them to him.

Looting left eye from mercer's body sets whole "The Litany of Larceny" quest as failed. You can check that by command "getstage TGLarceny" if it's 200, it has failed. You can only reload older save.
You can avoid this glitch by not looting left eye (right eye is ok) and using commands "player.additem 1994f1 1" (you may not need this, because after completing quest, it remained in my inventory) and "setstage TGLarceny 80" to advance.
