Did patch 1.2 graphically improve the Xbox version of Skyrim

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 1:07 am

Is it only my imagination, or did the patch yesterday either fix broken textures or make the game higher resolution in some way with that patch? I just went to Bleak Falls Barrow on a new character and I could swear it looked better than last time.

Haven`t noticed any difference myself. Although I didn`t have broken textures before hand though.

Neither did I, but I could swear the game looks better than before the patch.

It might be to soon to tell, but it looks like it might be just us.

It's called the Placebo effect hehe. It's a patch so you want it to improve things, and so you imagine they do. :D

130 hours of playing it with the so called Cache bug, and the game doesn't look any different. But yes, they are alot sharper and crisper, also more defined check your guys hand and see the veins, or if you're a female, blah blah.

You know, it's funny you mention it. I got the same feeling the moment I started playing after the patch was installed. Maybe it was my mind playing tricks, but I'm glad I wasn't the only one. :)

Well, maybe it isn't just our imaginations now that I've seen several people notice the same thing?

I first noticed something was different when I saw the snow on the exterior of Bleak Falls Barrow.

The only issues I've encountered since installing the patch is a random lag spike in the swamps near Solitude, and textures generally loading slowly. A good example of this is you go towards a door, from a distance it's just a brown block, getting closer, it all of a sudden has a few indentations, and then upon getting really close it magically turns into a decent looking door.

Definitely looks better for me and i knew full well what i was getting into when i installed the game on the HDD. I lived with it and was still having a fantastic time. This just makes it that much better. Started a new character to celebrate!

You guys have it installed to your Harddrive? Because if you have then pre-patch it was misrendering some textures or something like that. Fixing that problem was part of this patch.

I'll say my game has been smoother the limited time I've had to play since the patch (a few hours after work yesterday).

My char can now have a house in Whiterun as the bed is no longer "owned" which is nice. :)

But I wasn't having any gamebreaking issues anyway.

The texture bug plagued my game. I was excited for this update. My jaw dropped when I finally saw the game in the graphics it was meet to have.

Although, I want to see a dragon flying backwards.

Didn't for me.... Maybe if you installed it before the patch then it could have. I play off the disc (eff off, i have a 20gb xbox with 3gb left) so i haven't noticed any difference at all.

At any rate, I've only been enjoying this patch because it turns out it actually does look better, and I haven't noticed any of the problems with this patch that other people were talking about.

After 1.2, I've noticed that the textures are fixed, but jagged edges are even more apparent than ever before.
