Did Skyrim Dissappoint YOU

Post » Fri Dec 16, 2011 9:49 am

So this is the 2nd post of this same topic but a little more unbiased.

Questions and Answers (Me asking myself, you guys agree or disagree?):

Q: Did skyrim dissapoint YOU?
A: Hell no its a fun game besides the crashing, if modders or bethseda can fix it, it will be the best RPG for years to come

Q: Do you feel it is over-hyped?
A: Yes, but that's marketing

Q: Do you feel bethseda will fix the crashing and bugs?
A: Yes but it takes time. Unless a modder makes one that prevents the crashing and Bethseda implements it into an update.

Q: How long have you played TES series?
A: Since oblivion, but i went back to morrowind to try it out

Q: Is skyrim worth $60+the cash to put out for the DLCs?
A: Hell yes, this game deserves the money, the vast landscape cost money to render out (i have no idea where im going with this but o f*cking well?)

Thanks for reading/posting hope you give your comments and feedback down below and vote to let everyone know what you think. thanks guys and gals PEACE

No, not as such.
I quite expected it to be a game with a good world design, linear quests, dead NPC's and designed for a 5 year old with a mental issue. It fit quite well home there.
I bought the game for the Creation Kit, and I still expect a good game out of it.
The world is beautiful, and once the modders get their hands on it, I expect to get the game I had hoped for out of it.

No, it didn't dissapoint. Why? Becasue I know that unless a game is underhyped on purpose it will always sound better that it is when you play it.

Q: Did skyrim dissapoint YOU?
A: Heh not really, I guess I just wanted a more "Epic" feeling world and just way too much from the current generation technology.

Q: Do you feel it is over-hyped?
A: Elder Scrolls Games are always like that

Q: Do you feel bethseda will fix the crashing and bugs?
A: The bugs I have found were kinda minor (Banners not swaying, clipping) but I found some serious ones that need fixing (Man sitting down in midair lol)

Q: How long have you played TES series?
A: Since oblivion, but i went back to morrowind to try it out (Same here)

Q: Is skyrim worth $60+the cash to put out for the DLCs?
A: I feel games are overpriced today but for I'll gladly pay that much for a series I love so much :tes: and the DLC will keep me playing for awhile (my vista is crappy so I can't get the pc version/mods)

No, in fact so far it has exceeded my expectations.

I expected it to be easy and appeal to mainstream gamers, so no surprise there.

However, if you aren't a whiny drip and are willing to actually use your brain, YOU can make it a more interesting game. Don't like fast travel? Walk and use the carts. Fell overpowered? Gee, stop min/maxing.

People have this idea that somehow things have been "dumbed down" from Morrowind, about the only place I really see this is quest markers and lack of a journal/having to follow instructions.

My only real complain minus the small bugs I've run into is the lack of options for quest tracking without the marker. Other than that it's a phenomenal game and IMO light years beyond Morrowind and Oblivion in most ways.

It's particularly better in the combat department, it's still mostly mindless, but the right combination of skills and difficulty keeps it pretty fun.

I've played since Daggerfall.

Didn't mind shelling out 60 bucks as I know i'll get probably something 200+ hours out of this game.

Questions and Answers:

Q: Did skyrim dissapoint YOU?
A: Nope, it has been amazing since day 1.

Q: Do you feel it is over-hyped?
A: Most high end projects are.

Q: Do you feel bethseda will fix the crashing and bugs?
A: Yes some will be fixed, others will be ignored/unfixable.

Q: How long have you played TES series?
A: Morrorwind.

Q: Is skyrim worth $60+the cash to put out for the DLCs?
A: This is probably one of the few games actually worth 60$ in these times. Not to say its the only game worth playing, but for its price you easily get more game(60-400+ hrs depending on how much you like/want to play)than other triple A titles, let alone singleplayer games.

Q: Did skyrim dissapoint YOU?
A: Game-wise, no. Quality-wise... well, it could have been worse, I suppose.

Q: Do you feel it is over-hyped?
A: I have yet to see a big title that isn't.

Q: Do you feel bethseda will fix the crashing and bugs?
A: Maybe. Considering that we still have to rely on unofficial patches for TESIV, FO3 and FNV for the majority of issues, I'm hoping they do better than usual. Not holding my breath though.

Q: How long have you played TES series?
A: Since Oblivion; also played FO3 and FNV.

Q: Is skyrim worth $60+the cash to put out for the DLCs?
It will be, when they get around to releasing the toolkit.

(Yes, I am aware that Fallout:New Vegas was made by Obsidian. It was published by Bethesda on their engine, so as far as I'm concerned it's still Bethesda's.)

Q: Did skyrim dissapoint YOU?
A: Yes and no, some parts such as the quest quality, shortness of the faction questlines, main quest ending lacking, the Companions and College of Winterhold questline were just bad, and removal of alot of things disappointed me greatly.

Q: Do you feel it is over-hyped?
A: Yup

Q: Do you feel bethseda will fix the crashing and bugs?
A: Eventually some will be fixed, but some of the others won't be fixed.

Q: How long have you played TES series?
A: I can't remember when I started playing TES but I know I started with Morrowind.

Q: Is skyrim worth $60+the cash to put out for the DLCs?
A: Was it worth the $65 bucks? Yes but for the DLC I'm going to wait on the reviews for that.

Not yet, 190 hours in and only half way through the main quest, though there is a particular old blade I want to kill because he keeps destroying my dogs and horses.

Did it disappoint? No. As for your questions:

Q: Did skyrim dissapoint YOU?
A: Nope. It's my favorite game of all time I do believe.

Q: Do you feel it is over-hyped?
A: Nope, I feel it lived up to what I expected it to be.

Q: Do you feel bethseda will fix the crashing and bugs?
A: Yes, but I'm not experiencing any of it (and never have from Bethesda games) so I really don't know what all the fuss is about.

Q: How long have you played TES series?
A: Since the release of Morrowind. I have since gone back and toyed with Arena and Daggerfall a bit, but Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim is really my experience.

Q: Is skyrim worth $60+the cash to put out for the DLCs?
A: Yes. Skyrim is a game I will play for the rest of my life.

Q: Did Skyrim disappoint you?
A: Yes, it did. Not necessarily the game itself so much as how it was handled in regards to the PC. I expected a game that made use of modern technology, and support for the PC to go with it. Instead we got fobbed off as being a market so small we weren't worth paying attention to in even basic ways, which honestly leaves me feeling pretty damned unwanted as a customer. In addition, Bethesda's attempts to ignore major problems, lack of tech support, and absence of response to player outcry has left me thoroughly unimpressed - that level of disregard for consumers has no place in a modern day product.

Q: Do you feel it was over-hyped?
A: Pretty much agree with everyone else here, games get hyped. Your own fault if you pay much attention.

Q: Do you feel Bethesda will fix the crashing and bugs?
A: With time? Sure, the question is how fast, and the problem is many of these are so severe and common that they have no place in a game that has gone gold.

Q: How long have you played TES series?
A: Daggerfall, unsure how close to release I picked it up though.

Q: Is Skyrim worth $60+the cash to put out for the DLCs?
A: Absolutely, I have my issues with the game itself, but on the whole I've already played it more than games I've paid that much for. The basic game may not be perfect, but there's not anything better in its niche.

It disappointed me because magic was a bit lame. Both the spells themselves and the College of Winterhold questline disappointed me.

One of the only hyped games I can recall completely blowing its own hype out of the water. Nobody expected it to be this much of a sensation. I hear people talking about it everywhere I go.
