Did someone want some DLC news?

Post » Thu Aug 25, 2011 9:55 pm

DAMN IT. My Pre-Order exclusive is now generic DLC content :c

Well so is everyone elses pre-order exclusives

Oh my yes. 27 of them.

I'm guessing they'll run the gambit from low end stuff all the way to high level. Will enemies be using any of that new gear

So is mine. But it would only concern me if I had paid extra to get that content (I didn't; nobody did). So.

Nice, I see a Katana among those screenshots. Glad at least someone realizes that when you release a weapon type pack you release a lot not 3 or 4 types.

I really want there to be awesome Energy Weapons!
Will a list of what to expect (with pictures) from this pack be released?

They can still add them in LR!

I also might be wrong, those could come in the Lonesome Road. It just says Gun Runners pack, but the fatman seems like it would be in Lonesome Road.

EDIT: Is the gun runners arsenal all guns or various weapons?

Don't you pay like 3-5 dollars extra for the Pre-Order fee?

Mr. Bergman,

One question. What if you have the caravan pack and you want to buy the pre-order pack thingy do you then get two caravan packs? Probably not. The new one probably overwrites the old one and leaves you with only one.

Nevermind, evidently I answered my own question. I is dumb.

At any rate. Awesome sauce! Yes, I said sauce. I can not wait for the 20th and the 27th. Gonna be a good day.

Ok.....So nobody thinks it's a ridiculous idea to release on the same day as Gears 3? I'm sorry, but this company has the worst marketing team ever. I guess I am also the only one that thinks the extra content is also a bit too late to bother with? Most people I see on these forums are die-hard fans.....and I would assume that most die-hard fans have already finished everything (Except LR) and really have no need for the Gunrunners, and especially the pre-order stuff. I am not here to start something just for the sake of raining on anyone's parade but seriously, I just don't understand the 'strategy' of this marketing team. "Hmm...lets not release during a dry season when everyone is waiting for something new and will surely buy this....let's release on the same day as a potential GOTY winner!" .....Genius.

Anyone who lurks here with the sole purpose of defending everything the company does can feel free to flame me for having the nerve to question this move. All I can say now is that I would have definitely bought all of the extra content if it came out months ago when it was still viable (at least to most people I know that beat the core game already) and would have bought LR on release like every other DLC. But now, I am definitely not bothering with the extras and am surely not going to be playing this when Gears releases. By the time I think about this again, due to the holidays, it will probably be on sale......Not sure how that is a win for Bethesda. Does anyone agree? I am only speaking for everyone I have spoken to on my Friends list and myself so who knows....maybe we are just radicals.

Who wouldn't get the gun runners aresenal?

Anyways it probally won't be a problem. Most of the fans are probally split and they don't expect to pull in new ones with Lonesome Road. And even if you want both it shouldn't be too bad to dish out 10 extra dollars for Lonesome Road. Now if they decided to release it at the end of October that would be a terrible decision. :)

A few things,

1. TLR looks awesome and I'm glad to know the release date.

2. 27 new weapons?!?!?!?!!? Damn I MUST have that DLC. (seems like a good value, some companies charge that price for a single outfit or two weapons.)

3. I've also got to say that all those people who actually bought the pre-order codes off of Ebay and Amazon for $40-$60 bucks each are probably waaaaayyyy pissed off right now. Lmao.

Basically thank you for the information on one of my favorite games of all time.

I'd rather settle for my FREAKING PROPERLY SKINNED GRIMY PRE-WAR BUSINESSWEAR, but tbh, these new weapons do appeal to my love of all things fun

I am just being honest. I love this game. I put over a hundred hours into it. However, I have beaten every quest and every DLC up to this point and consideriing we are heading into the busy gaming season, I don't see myself starting over from scratch. I just don't see myself buying a weapon pack when there is no more campaign left to try it out on. The weapons look great.....just not great enough to warrant a purchase for sole purpose of experimenting with them for a little while then turning the game off cause there is nothing left to do. Sure, there will be people that have yet to play this game at all......will that be enough people to make the extras a success? doubtful (I.M.O.) . And besides, is that who the marketing team wants to aim their strategies at? The minority of gamers who have yet to even start the game or the people that have loved the series enough to have been playing it since it came out?

With all of the new weapons I'll definately restart and play the entire thing over again. Should spice it up a bit. Hell this game already had sooooo many weapons to choose from and now there is a chance to get more...I'm really glad that they did the weapon add on pack.

Here's hoping for a few FO3 weapons to be mixed in there as well.

.32 pistol would be nice (stylish and fits with my 50's businessman style)

Also the generic assault rifle would be cool too.

I dunno I'm sure I'll be happy with whatever they add.

They probally won't lose a whole bunch of sales to gears of war though. Its almost like saying that a Mario game is coming out on September 20th, guess it won't sell whatsoever thanks to Gears of War 3. Gears of War 2 got about 6 million copies sold is about 3 years, modern warfare 2 beat that in 1 day and I think Black Ops beat that. I also think Halo Reach beat it, and at that time Halo was definately losing popularity. Super Mario Galaxy even came close. Clearly Gears of War 3 won't be as popular as some believe. All the people that I know who own an xbox think Gears of War is terrible.

I've said on the forums tht is the kind of incompetence that people get fired for.

but I disagree. I still have two more playthroughs to go. One for house and one for NCR (shudders) so these new weapons are going to make my energy weapon long range character happy.

What I wish they would do is remove the stupid, remove bad rep from faction thing until I agree to work with them. I don't get the ciesers blessing mission anymore because I got in good with the NCR even though I will never work with them in this play through.

Anyone wonder if there will be a bundle of those two extra packs or if they are separate?

Also as to the 27 brand spanking new Weapons, How many of them are actually good and how many are just fodder?
