Did the wife show hair physics? maybe clothing physics?

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 4:51 pm

I was rewatching the e3 conference just because, and at the section where the dad is looking at the baby, the wife says something to the effect of 'look at my two favorite men. spin the mobile a bit. he loves that.'

she's standing in the doorway, and when she leans her head to the side, her hair moves pretty dramatically, not just the 'stretching' feature last seen in skyrim (not sure what else to call it). it's not every strand or anything, but i thought it looked great compared to past beth games. you also see it sway a tiny bit when she's waiting on the 111 elevator just before the bombs fall

do you think that will be seen in all hair (long enough hair i mean, i know theres not gonna be some witcher every-strand-moves-no-matter-how-small stuff, but gravity seems to affect it now) or just like a pretty initial bonus? i remember oblivion making a big deal about 'see that chain in your cell? it has physics. it totally moves' then most chains in the game world were just static unmoving environment pieces

if this is the case, could we see it in clothing too? i mean within reason. the vault suits are fabric but they dont need some super physics, or business suits or the like, but it'd be nice for outfits close to the NCR ranger coats down near the feet, the coat tails moving a bit instead of looking like the fabic is hyper-starched cardboard and other examples like that

just curious if that was mentioned in an interview i missed

I hope we see it expanded onto the clothing more so than the hair.

If they can do it with the hair I'm sure they can do it with clothes. Nice find.

i didn't see much in the 2 males, but they weren't moving much

but the woman's dress kicking up when her heels hit the back definitely looked like something more than just simple clothing movement mapping

that has to be a good sign

If hair and cloth physics are in I'm happy. It's one of those things that we have asked about for years.

And yes it also means (once modding starts) that it will result in a part of the body getting some, bounce... I always thought it was silly, but after getting it in Skyrim, thanks to a certain plugin, it looked nice and a lot more realistic than the ones that was just adding an animation. Hate it or love it in games, but my chest do move when I walk, run, walk down stairs, etc. Just like physics adds realism to cloth and hair, this also is part of that.

Hair, cloth and yes... "boob physics" does add realism... So far though, for me, the size of the "mods" allways took away the realism again. Or so I heard on youtube!

Wouldn't a woman who was running a round a lot and killing oh so many things find a way to stop her boobs from flopping around? Like a training bra? Or some other way of binding those puppies down?

Most probably, but you know ... war never changes and unplanned combat happens.

I wonder how the cloth physics would pan out if we found a cape and jumped off a small building?

Sorry, I just really want to be Batman.

well they had hair physics in the Tomb Raider game, but it can be taxing on the PC if you dont have the latest of the greatest like i don't have :( but that said, it would be nice to see even the smallest bit of physics aplied to things like hair and clothes.

A simple sports bra would keep them in place depending on the size. A regular bra would be enough to keep them from jiggling while she walked.

It's called a sports bra. Training bras are what they give to ten year olds.

Forgiveness senpai, I am unfamiliar with female underthings.

Which is why I bust out in hives when people mention 'boob physics' and 'realism' in the same sentence. Sure okay it'd make sense if she was walking around naked and not really doing anything but if you want realism in a setting where much of the point is being physically active and killing things she would almost assuredly not be. So have your boob and your jiggle but don't say it's in the name of realism.

Leave the whole Boob Physics to advlt/six game industries from Japan, I dont need over-sixualised women in my game, for me it detracts from the atraction i have in a game character.

If i want that kind of stuff, i go play a Illusion game, thank you much :D
