Lupa's brain is arguably the best for Rex because Rex used to be a Legion dog. So the memories in Lupa's mind will meld well with his old memories.

How do you know this?
I've never come across it in game, can you direct me to whoever tells you?

Rex has a red Legion bull painted on his chassis and when you talk to Antony with Rex, he mentions that Caesar used to have a cyberdog and he asks you where you got him.

Yes. Antony also says they have the Cyberdogs back in Colorado; Legion territory.

And I'm not sure, but I think Denver (Dog City in Fallout) has something to do with them.

Well, there was a glitch a long time ago where if you implanted rex with Lupas brain it would not have any effect when it was supposed to make him more durable. I just tested it out and I think they did fix it because he doesn't die as often now.

I recommend doing at least one legion playthrough. I was skeptical at first but I sided with them and it's been a lot of fun so far. It lacks a lot of quest and outposts but the challenge makes up for that. Rex is pretty good to but unless you or one of your companions is a melee character he might die a lot.

He and all the other dog trainers in the Legion, are apart of a tribe from Denver/Dog City, known as the Hangdogs. They trained and took what dogs they could from the dog infested city.

Ah yes, that's right.

Man, I was really hoping for a Dog Town DLC; give the Legion some more content. But I assume it would feel a lot like Dead Money.

Dead Money would be better than Dog Town. Dead Money may have Ghost People, but at least you don't need to worry about having your leg humped at the Sierra Madre. :bonk:

There is! Only for PC. And not made by the developers. And you know, not official DLC.

Nah you still had Dog that would probably eat you if he got hungry enough and not to mention God who would rip you apart if he could.

Yeah, I saw that Dog Town mod from an Alchestbreach video. It looked pretty good for most mods I've seen.
