Did they just stealth patch us?

Post » Sat Dec 10, 2011 5:37 am

So... between yesterday and this morning somehow my game performance has gone up. Yesterday I was experience FPS lags and hangs every time I went through a door. My own home in whiterun was driving me nuts, I couldn't even turn around in place.

Now, however, I'm having no such problems. None. The only thing I can think of that has happened between yesterday and today (for me) is that I lost power. If that isn't responsible, I'm wondering if they ninja'd a patch on me.

I'm not complaining, no sir. But I would love to read some of the patch notes if they did fire one off. I'm not seeing any updates, and as far as I can tell the 1.2 is still in the oven. Thoughts on this? If the power out is responsible, is there any way that could be helpful to gamesas engineers?

I noticed the same thing today, actually. I think we'd know if there had been a patch, though. We would have noticed Steam downloading it.

There was an ATI driver update recently, perhaps Steam updated your ATI video drivers.

Hmm.
Same possible for Nvidia?

You'd know it if you got a driver update. Updating graphics drivers tends to be a conspicuous process and Windows Update doesn't usually have them until months after the fact.

Steam said Skyrim was updated for me the other day, I couldn't find any patch notes anywhere though...

I had an ATI update when I got on this morning.

As for lag, I also get a performance boost every time I shut my ps3 off and turn it back on..

I had a big performance boost but I thought it would be due to the tweaks I did in my FXAA settings...

Maybe you accidentaly alt-tabbed twice and clicked back in, that's been confirmed to double the framerate (does for me, too)
