Did Todd Drop The F-Bomb? The Debate Continues

Post » Sun Jul 03, 2011 2:59 pm

It seems that an :flamethrower: extremely heated debate has been going on in the comment section of a somewhat recent interview with Todd Howard by AusGamers. Many believe Todd Howard dropped the F-Bomb when describing a players reaction to receiving a mod kit in the Skyrim box. Tell me what you think, did he do it, or is he innocent?

Here's the interview, skip to 4:05 for that fateful moment :swear:

(This topic was created for entertainment purposes only  Enjoy this mindless debate!)

P.S. - Todd Howard For President and he's the greatest man alive either way

I think the real question is, why the hell does it matter?A person dropped a f-bomb is it really that big of a deal? No.

Obviously it's really no big deal. Todd Howard is still awesome regardless and obviously I dont think anyone would think less of him because he swore. It's just that for whatever reason this is something people were debating quite furiously on in the comment section of the video.

A better question; Why does his curiosity towards the matter effect you?
He is free to ask and post about what he wants, there's no need to come into the thread and say things like that. Let him have his thread, if it doesn't concern you, don't post in it.

omg the f word... I stopped caring about when someone used that word when I was 6.... why do people freak out when someone says a word that society has arbitrarily deemed as "inappropriate"?

Lmao, if you can't tell he's saying that, you need to get your ears checked.

And this isn't really a debate.

But it detracts from all the other topics about what everyone want's their Skyrim to be, e.g. "I want multi-player", "I want spears/crossbows", "I want werewolves", "I want to play as a dwarf", "I want guns" :D

My word, Todd is so vile and inconsiderate. Going as so low to use such savagery as a language in front of so many viewers. shame on him and his company for posing such a video. May he and his kind never blight this world again. May he be tossed from the highest peak one can find in the avaiable area. Stooping to such a low level at ths and embarrwsing the entire gaming industry. May people weep and run in fear, or feel their blood anger at the mere whisper of his name for such venomous words.

Words are only offensive if you take offense at them, the sooner everyone just gets over the taboo associated with swearing the sooner people will stop using them to offend.

He was just getting in character as Skyrim is more rugged from the previous games. :)

He can't just whimper this, he needs to yell it.

Todd needs some bass in his voice.

He's just a level one character who just arrived in Skyrim so he's yet to gain that full Skyrim ruggedness.

I'm sorry, I thought "dropping the F-Bomb" meant saying the F-word, but since there's apparently some heated debate around it, that can clearly not be the case, since who in their right mind would actually care about something that trivial? So, as a person who's not always familiar with american sayings, what does it mean exactly to drop the F-Bomb? It must clearly be something very serious and harmful to society.

Swearing seems to be a big deal in foreign places, I'm not sure about America, but here in Australia people swear more in the school yard than Eddie Murphy in the 80's

I understand, over here we swear all the time, both at school, at work and on tv. But your answer implies that the "heated debate" is indeed over swearing. Is that the case? People are getting worked up about Todd swearing?
