Did Todd Drop The F-Bomb? The Debate Continues

Post » Sun Jul 03, 2011 2:19 pm

It seems that an :flamethrower: extremely heated debate has been going on in the comment section of a somewhat recent interview with Todd Howard by AusGamers. Many believe Todd Howard dropped the F-Bomb when describing a players reaction to receiving a mod kit in the Skyrim box. Tell me what you think, did he do it, or is he innocent?

Here's the interview, skip to 4:05 for that fateful moment :swear:

(This topic was created for entertainment purposes only  Enjoy this mindless debate!)

I don't see why it's a big deal... it's not like he's supposed to be a role model for young children. :)

I can't tell if I want to hear him say it and therefore I hear him say it, or if he actually does. He seems to make the "fuh" noise that we all know and love. Who knows?
If he did or if he didn't, oh well.

Holy crap! I never even noticed the first time I watched it, he says it so quietly. I turned up my speakers, and ya. He drops the F-bomb, clear as day.

Hahaha, that's F'in awesome. :P

^This.

also, it's an Australian gaming website, and apparently they are a bit more mature about it than some US media outlets might have been, as they haven't attempted to censor it.

Hmm... interesting. Mature on their gaming website, but when it comes to games with mature content, they're a bit more restrictive. :)

Who the [censored] cares? I say [censored] all the [censored]in time and no one [censored]in' DEBATES it, I mean [censored]... he's a Grown Ass [censored] Man, and so long as Skyrim launches on my birthday as planned, he can say whatever the [censored] he wants.

That sounds overly dramatic. He did drop the F-bomb, but it's not a big deal. If anything, it was funny. Personally, I think it's all a clever ruse to try to make Todd seem more human. We all know that he's a God amongst men. Todd Howard for President, go-go-go.

Well, Aussies aren't exactly known for their polite use of language now, are they. In America, you say F**K in public and its like *gasp* THE HORROR! YOU ARE A SICK INDIVIDUAL! While in Aussieland if you say F**K in public its like "Whateva bra".

But he'd be too busy with presidential duties that he wouldn't have time to make TES games...

What was he supposed to say instead? 'Danm!' 'Fiddlesticks!' or "for flip sake you really fliped up my flippen day!"
In fact its situations like this that swearing was [censored] invented for!

It seems out of context for him to say "WTF" after his sentence, it doesn't seem to flow.

Unless someone can prove me wrong?

Haha, I totally missed that the first time I saw it! Not shocked or anything, I just don't think I've heard Todd say that before.

FASCINATING!

He's talking about someone pulling the mod stuff out of their box and being all "wow, wtf?!" kinda deal. I think.

EDIT: On another play of the video he seems to be talking about getting the mod kit for download, not in the box. Then he jokes that people would be like "wtf" if the mod stuff came in the game box.

That does present quite the problem . . .

It seems out of context for him to say "WTF" after his sentence, it doesn't seem to flow.

Unless someone can prove me wrong?

Pretty much, he's clarifying that the modding tools will be for download, and not in the box. He then acts out a scenario where a player opens up the Skyrim box and notices that there's no modding tools, then continues on to say "What the f-bomb?". I thought it was funny. o.o :D

Swearing isn't even considered mature content here, they say the F-Bomb on TV shows at 8:00 pm

That means that Todd is only human and he is excited for the game the bethesda team and him are creating i am happy to see him excited means he is very passionate of the game. Plus he was joking about getting the mod tools in the box.

Yeah, I know, what they deem "mature content" varies from region to region. Personally, I never understood why "foul language" was considered "mature content" they're words just like any other and also have their own meanings as well. People are just strange, coming up with words that you "shouldn't" say.

That means that Todd is only human and he is excited for the game the bethesda team and him are creating i am happy to see him excited means he is very passionate of the game. Plus he was joking about getting the mod tools in the box.

It was actually one of the better of the most recent interviews with him, as the interviewer was mature, was a fan, and new what he was talking about, while keeping a serious tone but not too serious where it was dull.
