Did you ever switch allegiances?

Post » Sat May 17, 2014 10:17 pm

So, here's a question for you: Did you ever switch allegiances or stick it through to the end loyally?

What do I mean by loyally? When Moore asked you to kill the BoS, you did it. When Moore asked you to kill the Khans, you did it. Etc. Meaning you FOLLOWED YOUR ORDERS for your respective factions.

So, did you?

Me, I've never once had doubts about working for Mr. House given the worst he has you do is kill raiders in power armour. Hardly a morally objective issue.

Unless it was working with NCR to take over myself, then no.

No.

To elaborate, that's a mathematician's answer: I've not switched allegiances and have no interest in doing so, but I do not blindly follow orders.

I don't know if this counts, but....

I strung the NCR along but in the end Mr. House and myself laughed at the pitiful general Oliver as the bots threw him off the dam. :D

My last playthrough I had to lead along one faction to make sure I could get the remmies to fight with me for yes man, so I did not really switch sides, but from the ncr point of view I did. But before that I always stuck with my first choice, though after I saw where house was going I made sure that I chose what happened to his targets, not him. He may think he is all powerful and brilliant, but he is just the puppet, I am the power behind the throne. Think about it, you only hear all the stuff Mr House is doing, but you and I both know 'who' is doing it all.

I wish, but I stuck with the NCR until the end. Now, when you say "FOLLOW YOUR ORDERS" in dramatic capital letters, do you mean without question with no alternatives done? Because in that case, not really. I sent the Khans packing to Wyoming instead of destroying them. And for the Kings, I went with Hsu's method and got them to support the NCR. But for everything else, I suppose I did follow orders. I was more than happy to destroy the Brotherhood of Steel and I (regrettably) put House out of business.

I ultimately regretted helping the NCR after I killed House, and it was too late to start regretting at that point. So did I switch sides? No. Did I follow my exact orders, not really because Moore thinks with her head shoved up her ass. Do I regret my decisions? Why of course. But this was only on my first playthrough with my main character mind you, I most definitely sided with the other factions on other playthroughs.

My true allegiance is first and foremost to myself; which ever faction I decided go along with. For that reason, I cannot bring myself to kill those raiders in power armor, because the way I see it, banding up with them is the best decision the Courier could ever made in order to prolong his survival and independence. So unless I have to swallow the pill to get those achievements, I usually ended up betraying House or the Legion to go with NCR or Yes Man; though I always try to put up with their self-righteous crap as long as possible.

No. I plan ahead and decide what faction my character will support right from the start of the game. And most quests too. I like having a clear plan of action :hehe:

M'aiq has never switched his allegiance with other sides. M'aiq is a proud Caesar's Legion supporter and will never become unloyal to them.

Ave. True to Caesar.

Yes, I joined the sissyhood of steal and used them for power armor training. Then I blew them to kingdom come :disguise:

I side with Caesar's Legion every time. The NCR have to be the most boring faction in the game. Yes Man is just a silly Jim Carey tribute.

M'aiq is now not alone since he is a strong supporter of the Legion and supports all of what the Legion does, but he disagrees with the slavery part though.

jim carey tribute? really? I don't see that as Yes Man, but I watched kids in the hall, so hes always dave to me lol It is interesting how people see an npc or scene or quest differently, that is one of the cool reasons to come surf here. There is always something to make me see anothers view and it is not always good, or bad lol, but certainly different.

What the hell is this cat doing in the Mojave? (Do you play M'aiq in FONV? :P )

The NCR is an okay faction, They have good points and bad like the other factions however, Not one that I'd side with given the choices. If Mr. House didn't exist, I'd be a legion guy but thankfully he does and the plebeian's of the wasteland have their overlord with my courier as his partner.

The military is boring as hell, and their clothes are ugly. :P

The Legion are the most evil so I go with them. You can tell I'm well educated can't you?

My first character went with the NCR, but did not kill off groups if it wasn't necessary.

Other characters have been all over the map, several have switched factions partway through if they didn't like their orders.

There comes a point where you pretty much have to choose one of the three main factions. At that point some chars have "refused to choose", and gone off to do their own thing.

Started off NCR (democracy! Freedom! Yeah!) then a seeing Westside and comments from Beatrix Russel about the NCR made me reconsider, and I changed to Independent. I hadn't got into the NCR questline. I can see the benefits of House and the Legion, but can't imagine switching to them.

Yep. Ruin went along with the NCR (for RP and backstory purposes) up until he got what he needed then slaughtered anyone with a high rank, then embraced House's ideals.
