Difference between Sandbox and SDK? What are they?

So, I'm looking to become sort of an amateur map maker. I look at videos of original crysis and see the amazing things people have done with the Sandbox. I want to be able to do that. I'm practicing in Crysis Sandbox 2, so I'll have a deceant skill when Sandbox 3 is released. One thing I'm confused about, what's the difference between the Sandbox, and the SDK?

I saw this on a crymod news bulletin. The Sandbox 3 and SDK are being released. The SDK is free and comes with the full version of CryENGINE 3? (Or something like that I'll put a link to the post if you want to see for yourself)

What is the difference between SDK and Sandbox? I'm still not quite sure. I just want to make really high quality maps and just look at the "pretty-ness" It would be cool to make a mod or a movie, but that's not in my goals for anytime soon.

So, what is the difference? What is better for me? Just for making maps to admire. Does one have better graphics than the other? Simply, just explain the difference. I'm grateful for any help at all. :D

I have Crysis 2, so I'll get the sandbox, and the SDK is free, so I might as well get both, but I'd still like to know what the SDK is. Is it like the Sandbox, except you don't need Crysis 2? :I
