Different kinds of Trolls CONFIRMED!

Post » Wed Jul 13, 2011 8:10 am

I think it's safe to say it's confirmed, at least we got a strong indication on it.

It's safe to say it's confirmed once an employee actually, y'know, confirms it. Until then it's just wishful thinking on the OP's part.

I hope Mr. T will be in...

Mr T confirmed, in Skyrim! Hot.

Seriously though, a Mr T mohawk in the CC wouldn't be too bad.

Well, it's confirmed they have concept art of it... :P

In all actuality, most thing are cut after they've entered the game itself, this isn't even a screenshot, but concept art. It is not confirmed by a long shot. Don't take me as being mean or cynical or anything, I'm just skeptical of any 'definite' claim. :P

This doesnt confirm anything, its just concept art. It would sure be nice, but sure isn't confirmed. Remember the concept art with Spears in them? They aren't in the game are they? Sorry to rain on OP's parade here...

not really solid proof since its concept art
lots of concepts get thrown out when doing a game
one pic had someone holding a halberd, but that doesnt mean they made it into the game
but id say variety of creatures is very probable given how everyone hated the small cliche bestiary that was in oblivion

It's not confirmed as its concept art, which as far as we know are purly game ideas, unless you no other wise, but if this late in development he has it on his wall it's probably more likely to be in that the concepts we saw in the dev vids but that is pure speculation not confirmation. He is very cool tho, it's more likly we'd see different skinned enemy variations than models and behaviour sets but one can hope! Cudgel troll ftw!

Yay! Also, who noticed the Daedric looking pics above them? If Daedric looks like that in Skyrim, I'll be happy.

Also looking forward to seeing another 'troll under bridge' egg like the one in OB, lol.

We already knew there were different kinds of trolls...

Oh you mean in the game? :P

Yeah, that will be cool to see variations. Hopefully the variety will extend to other creatures as well so it won't look like every creature was cloned in a lab ;)

Beat me too it also!

Notice the Daedric armor to the top left of the picture of concept art. THAT is the daedric armor I WANT.

lol I'll just jump on the bandwagon and say that daedra (if that's what it is) right above it looks freakin awesome. We haven't seen any daedra yet, have we?

Also, we should note that in Oblivion they were just called "Trolls" not "Forest Trolls." Now, this could just be wishful thinking, but maybe the fact that we've seen "Snow Trolls" denotes the fact that there will be more than one type of troll in the game, where in Oblivion there was just one type of Troll. As in, there is need for differentiation between Snow Trolls and Forest Trolls and... Cave Trolls, perhaps... lol

hmm that forest troll seems to be carrying a piece of a log as an improvised cudgel. trolls are smarter in skyrim apparently they use weapons.

I hope they're not just the same creature with a different texture, and that they've different combat behaviour (and even weapons? it'd be nice if the snow one throws rocks, and the forest one tries to knock you down with a log).

Meh, such things are better reserved for totally different creatures. These are just subspecies, so a different texture will do fine. Kinda like a polar bear and a grizzly bear. It would be very strange if they would fight/move completely different.

I'm not saying that one of them should fight like a beast and the other perform Kung-Fu movements. Throwing a rock and wielding a log isn't SO different for a beast-like intelligence.

This confirms absolutely nothing. We can suspect there are different kinds but it is not confirmed.
Please stop throwing that word around.

i'd settle for every creature having multiple skins (different textures) i hate how every animal looks identical. Also having both genders, ex female giants. Just creature diversity in general sounds awesome

Ahhh...the trolls. I remember them in Oblivion. Before your character got stronger, these guys would really eat your lunch. It was usually best to just run at the earlier levels...
