"Tom and Mark can pair up with Nathan and Henry, while you carry me," Starr said to Demetri.

"So Mark with Henry, Nathan with Tom," Demetri said, "Everyone happy with that?" Demetri was slightly worried about Tom, he hadn't fully recoperated from his wounds, but he was better off with Nathan then Henry.

Starr looked around the dark, overgrown vault. Most everything had plant life on it, the signs were barely readable. She noticed one that said "-e--tor".

"Let's check that out," Starr said, pointing to the hall the sign hung over.

Demetri nodded, "Alright then," Demetri said, "You lot look somewhere else, see what you can find." Demetri went through the door with Starr. Demetri was looking to the floor more then around him, trying not to trip on wines, if he falls to the floor Starr is coming with him. "If you need to stop and rest just say," Demetri said to her, "And we thought the vault was going to be hard to find, this place as so much plant life growing on it.

"Tell me about it, we may need a machete like Mark's to find this GECK."

Starr looked down the stairs they were traveling down. The vines seemed to be connected, almost like a root system.

"How do you think our employer found out about this GECK anyway?"

Demetri shook his head, "Thats a good question," Demetri said, "Though we were still made to do the leg work." Demetri pulled more vines from a door trying to get it open. Once getting through the door they found what looked to be the storage room, "Well we know where they kept their stuff," Demetri said, "Though not what we need, come on, lets try another door."

The next room appeared to be what was left of a bathroom. Roots and vines had collapsed the stalls, and were resting in the toilet water.

Maybe the plants in this vault are all one, that would mean the roots are looking for resources to live, while production is at the top... Starr thought to herself.

She wasn't sure if her knowledge on plants was right so she kept to herself about it.

The next room was a security office. Starr noticed a pistol and two clips were laying on a table.

"Could you grab those for me? My stuff got left at the infirmary," Starr said.

After Demetri handed Starr the weapon she examined it. The pistol was a Glock 26, used 9mm bullets, was quite small, and appeared to be in fairly decent condition. Starr wasn't going to complain about the smaller caliber, she liked her guns that way.

The next room had double doors, and a loud hum could be heard from inside. Starr got excited, she thought it could only mean one thing. When Starr and Demetri were inside her heart sunk, it was the vault's reactors. She was surprised that a few were still running.

"Maybe we could turn the lights on from here," Demetri said, "Sit here for awhile, a bit of extra light helps." Demetri put Starr down carefully, and started looking for a power box connected to the lights or something, "You alright down there?" Demetri called to Starr, coming back round he found the power right next to where Starr was, "Always the last place you look," Demetri gave off a slight laugh and started playing with the wires to see what he could do.

Mark said to Henry, ""Let's start looking in the science lab like you said." He then started walking deeper inside the Vault.

Starr laughed, "That might be the same problem we have with the GECK."

She pulled out the small pistol and slid a magazine into the gun, and looked at the other. Each held ten rounds, Starr would have to conserve her ammo if they got into a fight with someone.

"Lets hope not," Demetri said, "The last place I want to look isn't the best idea." A spark emitted from the power box, "Ah, [censored]!" Demetri shouted holding his hand in the other, "Bloody hell this stings."

"Be careful," Starr said, "You don't want to end up like I was a few hours ago."

"Only a small burn from the wire, nothing to worry about," Demetri said going back to the power, after a few moments, "And he said let there be light." The whole room and the corridor lit up, Demetri covered his eyes as the sudden change in light hurt his eyes, after awhile his eyes adjusted and he looked around, far easier to see, "That should help."

Starr covered her eyes as the lights turned on. Slowly her eyes adjusted to the bright light.

"Nice job, where to now?" she asked.

"Maybe check the living quarters, see if there is a way to somewhere else," Demetri said, "Comeon." Demetri pulled Starr up and helped her down the corridor. Going into the the living quarters they stumbled through, some skeletons laying on the beds still, though in some odd positions, Demetri could see that for some strange reason one foot had been pushed into another mouth, limbs were all over the place.

"This is sickening, how could they just conduct these abominations in places like this?" Demetri asked, "I doubt these people even knew about what was happening maybe only a few metres away from them."

Mark was walking along the dark corridor when he noticed the lights coming on. After a few minutes of temporary blindness, Mark's eyes adusted and he continued walking.

Starr was relieved that she could walk with some assistance now. It was much better than being carried.

She noticed the dead bodies, some more mutilated than others.

"What were they doing down here?" she questioned, even though she knew the answer.

"Well trying to make a super soldier from what I read on the Terminal," Demetri said, "It got loose..." Demetri shook his head in dismay, "Lets hurry up, this place is unpleasent, worst place I've been to." Demetri face was full of sorrow, even though he had nothing to do with this, he had only be here for a few hours, yet, yet he felt sorry for these people, those he did not know, those who were around before Demetri was even born.

Although the two didn't want to check the rooms near the bodies they did so, to make sure the GECK wasn't inside them.

As they were walking towards a set of stairs Starr asked, "What should we do if we find the GECK? Tom and Mark are with Henry and Nathan, they'll know if we find it."

"I've no idea," Demetri said, "I don't like the idea of taking it and leaving and leaving those two with nothing." Demetri thought for the moment, "I'd hate myself if I left them, and if we did, we'd be leaving corpses." Demetri stopped and looked at the ceiling, "I hate my [censored] life," Demetri said, "God hates me."

"Why do you think that?" Starr inquired.

She was quite surprised to hear that from Demetri. She always thought him to be the gruff, get-the-job-done person.

"My life has had crap thrown at it since I was a child," Demetri said, "When your father used to be a captian people expect great things from you, I still see the faces of those I left in that final battle." Demetri sighed, "Heh, this is the reason I rather work alone, when you fight together there is a connection not even friendship gives."

Demetri looked at the other end of the corridor, but his eyes carried on, "Just leaving them for dead just wouldn't seem right, ya know?"

"All right lets go" With any luck Henry would reach the GECK before anyone else did. Henry had the advantage of the radio he gave to Nathan, it should still get through to him, even underground. They moved down the derelict hallways and stepped over numerous plants. "I wish I had my ripper right now" It would make their job easier tenfold. However their path to the science labs was obstructed by a solid mass of plants." Maybe we should cut it open somehow. You got anything that could open it?" Henry said to Mark "You're a biologist right? Got anything in that head of yours that can help us?"

"We all have trouble in our lives, I haven't had parents since I was fourteen. Just press on and face each challenge," Starr said to Demetri.

"Let's keep looking for that GECK," she said.

Starr guided him up the stairs, which was rather hard considering her weak state and Demetri's stature compared to hers. She saw a door that read "Overseer's Office".

"That seems promising."

Demetri nodded, once in the overseer's office Demetri looked around from where he was, seeing and over turned chair he picked it up and put Starr down on it, "I'll see if the terminal works," Demetri said. Going over he looked through the terminal reading the logs and what equipment they had and stored. "Seems the G.E.C.K was stored in a room of it's own," Demetri said, pressing a few more keys and finding what he needed the desk went up ripping up the wines and plants that entrangled it, "I think it's down there." Demetri's voice was sullen, he wasn't excited about this anymore then what he should of been.
