As Starr sat in the office chair she asked, "Where exactly is 'down there'?"

"Only one way to find out," Demetri said, going down the steps quickly he looked in, the lights were very dim down there. Going back up, "We'll another tunnel," Demetri told Starr. "Why do secrets always start with tunnels?" Demetri said under his breath. Going over to Starr he helped her up and took her down the Stairs into the tunnel.

"Lead the way."

Starr wondered why the lights were dim down this tunnel, but the rest of the vault had become so well lit.

Demetri went down the tunnel with Starr, watching for vines which they trip up on. They came into a more open part of the tunnel, seeing a large set of doors, it looked to be another vault door but with a different design. "Thats strange, why have a vault within a vault?" Demetri asked, "It doesn't seem normal."

Going up to the door he looked at it, "There doesn't seem to be any way to open it," Demetri said, "Any ideas?"

"You could try knocking," Starr joked.

She looked around trying to find a computer panel, or a lever.

After trying for a bit to try to get through Henry just took out his laser pistol and started blazing through. It started a fire and burned up the foliage pretty quickly, they had to back off as the smoke was too much. Finally they could get through, what they saw in the labs was terrible. There were test tubes that went on for what seemed like forever and each one contained one of the Mantis monsters, classified as XM-800s by the lab logs. There was a terminal in front of them and it showed the condition of each one.

Demetri just pounded his fist on the door, so close yet so far, Demetri thought, how that simple phrase hurts. "There must be a way to open it from this side, thoerwise they would never be able to get in."

"Maybe Mark could think of something..." Starr said, "Hurry and get him, I can wait here."

"You sure?" Demetri was concerned, she wasn't in the best state, and should danger arise she would most likely die if the creature decided to pay a visit down here, Demetri doubt he could live with himself if someone died due to him doing so, "You sure?"

"I'm sure," Starr said.

She pulled out the Glock 26 and cocked it.

Mark looked at the XM-800s with a mixture of shock and horror. He said , "There's just so many of them, let's just hope they never wake up, one of these things is quite enough." Mar then continued looking for any terminals to hack.

"Aslong as your sure," Demetri said, "I'll be back soon, hopefully with a way to get the door open." Demetri jogged off looking to find Mark, Starr was right to go and look for him, he seemed the best choice.

((Well I'm off to bed, almost 1am here))

Henry was the Enclave's former tech specialist so now he tried to see what the else the terminal held. He clicked "Commands" and a list came up.


A) Cleanse vault (all lifeforms will be eradicated in the event of a containment breach)
B)terminate life support systems
C )activate XM-800 (control device will be provided)
D)send XM-800 to loading bay
E)release all subjects

interested Henry said "Mark you should look at this! We can use them as weapons against the one already loose!" Henry made sure the targeting parameters marked enclave as friendly as well as Demetri,Starr,Tom,Nathan,and Mark "what should we do with these things?"

I will assume that the Monsters are the first form we encountered then. My character not having seen it except when it lacked a head is not clue in to this.
also the creature is coming to eat you all, fun fact with the size it has been made it will likely just barely fit in the doorways if it goes in slowly.

Nathan was wandering the long corridors of the Vault looking for something he could use to turn this around Tom was behind him just close enough to see any fast moves Nathan tried to pull around a corner but far enough so as to blast him in the spine if he tried a melee strike. the passages were choked with vines and some were even flowering on the walls although the way the plants had a red triangles on the edges made him think of teeth and felt it best to leave the things alone. having wandered another path Nathan and Tom had found themselves in the lab right near the others just on the opposite side of the titan stride hallway. turning to Tom Nathan spoke "Looks like the others are up ahead guess this place has been scouted then." pulling out his combat knife and slashing through a hanging vine Nathan motioned for the silent man to hurry up.
"What the hell is that thing?" Nathan asked the gathered group as he gazed into one of the less clouded tubes. "also wheres the big guy?"

It had found the path They had took, reaching the bottom of the path It found that this place was that of its birth
Irony, a new shade of life for It, sprung up Its womb would be their tomb.
It could taste victory in the air, this would be the end of the outsiders.
stalking silently It made sure to silence footfalls by stepping on the vines and were it possible the creature would have smiled.

While Starr waited for Demetri to return she plotted what she should do to get the explosive off her wrist.

An EMP might work, but I don't think I should risk it. I can't just walk away with the GECK right now, and I'd get gunned down if I tried to later. Maybe I should just tell them, but what if they don't trust me after?

Starr was split on what to do. She hoped her friends would come back soon so she didn't have to think about it much more.

Mark heard Henry's suggestion and said, "And then what, huh? The creatures kill every human in Florida besides those marked friendly after we leave, or worse, they adapt some way to bypass the mind control. In my opinion, we should just kill all of them and call it a day." He then said to Nathan, "This is a member of the species of creature that tried to kill us earlier, designated XM-800."

"That's probably a good idea, Ok lets see, terminate." Henry pressed B "Yes! The life support is gone! Now they're dieing one by one" Henry turned and said "Ok now we can focus on-" Henry was cut off by a sharp blade piercing through his body. "Aggghh!" Henry looked down to see the arm of the Monster sticking out of his ribcage. He tried to speak but only gurgled out blood , Henry's vision started to darken and he slipped into unconsciousness. He felt the creature throw his body into one of the test tubes and heard glass shattering and a loud screech. So much... blood ... must stay alive.. Henry crawled into a corner and spat out blood. With is last breath he stuck a super stim into his wound and hoped that it would keep him alive.

OOC: oh please it has no psuedopods and I have not used the word Indescribable once to explain how it looks. it is in no way shape or form a lovecraft terror and yes it wants to eat you all.

Nathan looked at the man then back at the tank "Soo.... that semi-humanoid creature turned into everyone's favorite whirlwind of death from upstairs?" nathan paused and just wondered how in blazes someone would be stupid enough to invent something like that thing "Wow.." He would have continued had a large claw not burst from henrys lung and everyone panic as the previously named whirlwind of death from earlier came back to kill stab and possibly stab again everyone in the area. pulling his pistol from its holster he felt a pang of regret at the loss of his 44. before releasing a trio of shots from his plasma pistol striking the thing in the eyes and ran into the stacks of tanks hoping to draw it from the others to atleast give them time to prepare something. seeing that It was still approaching the others Nathan swore loudly before pulling out a sound grenade and lobbing it. the weapon didn't seem to affect it as before but as the very least did something Nathan watched somewhat happy as the creature approached before running in the opposite direction and trying the mentally map a route away from here in his head."Someone go find some sort of big explosive we need to bury this thing!" the creature lost some ground due to the tightly packed nature of the tanks but Nathan knew that as soon as he exited this place it would catch up quick.

It had found the outsiders and one was already finished feeling pain wash over It and quickly turning to find the issue It found another Man shooting some sort of fire at It and decided that at the very least this would be a more satisfying meal if all of the others were dead so setting down to eat these less mobile ones first It felt annoyance when the fire shooting one released one of those damned screaming rocks.
Anger getting the better of It then turned setting sights on this other one and deciding in what way to kill this the Man.

Mark saw the creature impale Henry on its claw and throw him into one of the test tubes, seemingly killing him, though he saw Henry take a Super Stimpack before falling unconcious. Mark looked at the creature and said, "[censored]." The creature tried to impale him, but Mark dodged and tried to slice it's arm off with his machete, but it just bounced off its exoskeleton and threw Mark aside like a ragdoll. As Mark cursed his temporary lapse of sanity/intelligence on the ground, het then saw Dimitri out of the corner of his eye and said, "Guess whose back."

OOC: dude this creature deflects bullets with its armor who the hell are you superman? if your going to try and chop an armored beasts arm off try and describe a reason as to why you could do it.
*holds hands up in a penalty call* break with reality and use of strength that players character does not possess. Epic fail.
Nathan watched as Mark tried to go Toe to toe with the creature before getting thrown back and the thing getting distracted when Mr.Raoos came back and shouted a battle cry
Nathan swore and pulled a plasma grenade out before placing the thing on impact explosion "Duck!" Nathan shouted as the weapon hit the beast in the leg before exploding in a jade burst of fire.
after the dust and fumes from melted steel cleared Nathan watched as the thing righted itself before spitting a burst of acid from its maw which hit Nathan in the chest. Nathan screamed an unearthly rattle as the thick gel charred his skin and set his nerves alight he ripped his knife from its sheath as his shirt rapidly melted before using the blade to scraqe most of the gunk off him. looking up Nathan witnessed the creature approach him slowly "Get some heavy weaponry dammit!"Nathan wheezed before moving back into the tank stacks hoping to lost the beast "we need to kill this thing did you not see it tear though the melee upstairs?!" Nathan slid "The damned thing can take plasma and keep moving fighting it with a machete is not going to work!" Nathan shot the beast in the chest twice before ducking as a claw cut a ragged slash through the metal of the tank Nathan had been hiding behind. 'Now how to get this thing away from me' Nathan thought to himself spying a fire extinguisher Nathan pulled it from the wall and tossed it The beast sliced it in half and Nathan was rewarded with confused motions as the liquid inside blinded it for a few precious seconds as he scrambled up a set of metal stairs and hid in one of the doorways before firing on the thing again. Nathan hoped that someone could find something to crack the damned thing absently he looked at his knife for a moment before storing the shattered weapon in his bag.

"By all that is holy!" Demetri shouted, pulling his minigun off his back he sprayed one of the creatures, the rounds were going through, seems their carapace has not fully formed yet unlike their counterpart up above, but they still had it's durabilty, the creature wasn't even phased by the relentless barrage of bullets.

"What the [censored] did you do?!" Demetri shouted at the others, "Ah screw it, we need to get out of here." Demetri moved back firing his gun as he went, moving towards the second vault door he found to get Starr, if that creature did turn up... Demetri didn't want to think about it, they were given the signs of their sadism and violence in the living quarters.

Starr heard the sound of muffled gunshots. Her first thought being that Demetri, Mark, and Tom were in a gunfight with Nathan and Henry. She would have never guessed that It had gotten in the vault. Starr started crawling around the floor looking for anything to get the door open.

"How did they get in?" Starr said out loud.

Demetri heard shattering glass, seems the creatures could survive without their life surpport, or maybe putting the power back gave them a boost of life. "[censored]," Demetri said, still firing away with his minigun at these immature creatures. The news they were all making was horrific, their roars and screeches echoed through what Demetri was considering a mass grave.

As he made his way into the living quarters plants hadlooked to be torn up and the old furniture thrown around. Going through he saw another one of these things going through, it's manibles clicking and finally gave out a deafening roar.

Starr heard the roar of It, she didn't know that there were others. She cursed and began searching harder for a way into the vault. She tried everything she could think, finally she gave in and rested her head against the wall. She heard a crinkle, she looked back and noticed that there was a fake part of the wall. Starr pulled the rest of the material away to reveal a computer. She turned it on and was rewarded with a black screen reading, "REBOOTING PLEASE ALLOW 5 MINUTES FOR REBOOT"

Starr cursed again.

Demetri watched the creature from the shadows, it seemed to just be searching, no idea what, no idea who, just trying to get a sense of where it is at. It made it's way into the overseers office, Demetri followed and watched as it tried to go down the stairs, the desk which covered the tunnel getting in the way. The creature growled and ripped it off and finally got down the stairs, though in a hunched manner, the ceiling was very high.
