Difficulty Settings in SKYRIM?

Post » Mon Oct 17, 2011 8:18 pm

color="#00BFFF"][/color][Hi there everyone i am new to the Forums and will be keeping a keen eye on interesting topics etc.

I Have a Topic to discuss about the Difficulty level of Skyrim.
I Personally did not like the Oblivion "Slider" Difficulty wi i presume was in
4 Stages in Quaters First Quater Being Easy Halfway being Normal Three Quarters Hard,
and and Max Being Very Hard.

I just dont get it though becase i wanted a set difficulty but not a Slider , the main reason
is because it makes it too easy to cheat by playing the game at a easy level so theres no real challenge
of making sure you dont die and keep saving the game over and over.
for example if i cant kill a boss on the Max setting and find it fustrating well all i have to do is adjust the
Slider. And low and behold no real challenge.

Now if there was a pre set Difficulty at the Start of each Game Like i mentioned Easy ..Normal..Hard..Epic!
That would be awesome ,especially if you got Rare weapon found only by completing Epic setting from Dungeons and Bosses etc.

Any thought or can anyone verify anything on this firt Topic of mine?

What is the best way to Play the game 3 Quaters? or Max Setting?

I think pete hines confirmed that the slider is gone, we have easy/normal/hard whatever now. That would also mean that difficulty doesnt just affect enemy HP.

By the way, 'epic' describes the scale of a story. Stop abusing that word right now!

Experienced it first hand, the slider is out. IIRC there are 5 settings. Could be 4, I can't seem to think what the fifth could be...

I think it was Easy, Normal, Hard and Very Hard if I remember all the magazine snippin's correctly.

Though, they should name them creative things like Novice, Adept, Master, and Dragonslayer.

Lowest difficulty is definately Novice. That's what the default was for the demo at Eurogamer Expo. I remember Master being in there too.

I would hope for Novice, Apprentice (Normal), Journeyman, Expert and of course Master.
Because well you know it would be cool. Also generally speaking I'm in the camp where Normal difficulty is what the game is supposed to be played at with higher levels being to challenge experienced players and easy difficulties just to mess around.

There are difficulty levels now and I'm gonna play on the hardest difficulty like I did in MW and OB. I never dropped the slider from the maxed out position because I got so used to it that it felt like the games default difficulty.

Although if the game is too easy then I'm gonna have to use somee difficulty tweaks/mods.
