I'm going to get the retail box of Crysis 2 but since my dvd drive isn't working properly half the time I'll probably be better off downloading the game. But I still want to have the box and the dvd, so is there any tool like EA's Download Manager where you can just slap the cdkey on it and it'll download the game for you?

I have the steam option but it's seriously overpriced (50€ here in Portugal vs the 32€ from sending it in from Game.co.uk) and I'm pretty sure that retail keys don't work on the steam version, in any game for that matter.

uhm.. you can use EA download manager to download crysis 2.. the option to download any EA retail game from EA Download manager is possible.

you have the cd key from the retail version, input it into EA Download Manager and download it from there..

or did i understand you wrong??

Ugh, I guess I failed massively here. Forgot that EA was the publisher for Crysis 2, so yes I can use EADM. /epicfacepalm
