Well, dinosaurs do rate higher than guns on my list for things I want in TES...but one row above the absolute last item is still pretty much "Oh, hell no" territory.

Daedroth kind of look like dinosaurs. That is, if we'll be seeing them this time around.

Did you know, that before people came up with the term "Dinosaur", that they used to call the unidendified big animal bones "Dragons"? Even from old times, people often found rather well preserved bones of huge reptiles, and they called them dragons. Dragons what we see today in movies and games are not a mere fantasy, but based on reality.
So yeah, I'm sure there will be dinos in Skyrim.... just that they'll have wings and likely shoot magicka fire cones.

The only Dinousars that should be in the TES are oversized Argoinians.

Is that the origin of the dragon myths or were there myths before any fossils were found?

lol I think dinosaurs are totally cool but I don't think they should be in Skyrim cuz there's already dragons. but maybe one hidden in a lake like the lock ness monster would be cool.

It varies. There has been some fascinating research on how the ancient Greeks viewed dinosaur bones, though. They use to rearrange them into humanoid forms, believing them to be from a mythic age when people were giants. Myths of the gryphon also almost certainly come from protoceratops fossils.

Thank you for answering. I may do some reading on the subject. Very interesting.

Also, considering that they are based upon those myths, I was already thinking of dragons as dinosaurs in Skyrim before you guys told me this, because to me that notion makes them infinitely cooler. We've got mammoths, sabertooth tigers and other animals from the ice age. So I thought it cool to think of dragons as dinosaurs even though technically they're quite a bit further into the past. I mean, who doesn't like dinosaurs, right? Good to know that it's not out of the realm of plausibility to think of them that way though.

I don't know, some could fit in quite well. It doesn't matter that they ARE dinosaurs, just that they're influenced by them. I mean, I could very well see http://img.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2007/11_04/dinosaurG2711_468x351.jpg coming to Skyrim.

If there are any Dinosaur influences, however, I'd like to see them without the scaly skin. Give them fur, or outer bones.

If you really want dinosaurs, you can probably relate a dragon to one.

Although you are clutching at straws here :D

Both the daedroth and clanfear used dinosaurs as model. think some SI creature was dinosaur based.

We will not see actual dinosaurs but they influence lots of monster ideas as many of them are basically two legged monsters.
Apears that ice age creatures will have influence on Skyrim.

It's obvious dinosaurs have been an influence in the games. Remember Morrowind creatures?

I'm fine with influencing for new designs, but if they straight put actual dinosaurs in it'll be annoying. It's already kind of annoying to me that we have mammoths, there should be something like them but with a TES twist -- just feels like it's following the same vein as Oblivion. With more 'normal' creatures than TES-born creatures.

I realy dont think dinosaurs fit well into TES, and especially not Skyrim. Althoough In the More Creatures mod from morrowind one of the creatures is a raptor, and I think it looked pretty well in Morrowind. But of course Morrowind was so wierd looking to begin with. Ah Morrowind....

No Dinosaurs in my Skyrim plz
