Sorry if this has been asked before but I couldn't find any info on it. I'm playing the Legendary Edition from Steam so I have all the updates. No player mods are installed.

I'm level 49 and I decided to continue on with the main quest. When I talk to Delphine at the stables, she gives me the party clothes and invitation. I put the clothes on and my character proceeds to ride the cart. The screen then goes black as if getting ready to load the new area, but nothing happens. I'm in the same place but with a black screen and crosshairs. I can hear the background noises (horse, etc.) but I can't do anything. I can access the save/load screen and my journal. When I get into my journal I can load the map and it still shows me at the stables. I can then fast travel to the Thalmor Embassy but I can't disembark from the cart, and even if I could, the screen is still black anyway. The game doesn't crash. Everything seems to be running other than the fact I can't see anything. What's going on?

Things I've tried:

- Leaving all my gear at my home in Solitude before meeting Delphine

- Typing in setstage MQ201 100 at various points (still black screen)

- Fast traveling everywhere (still black screen)

- Typing in enableplayercontrols (lets me move around - in the dark!)

I have seen outside this forum that a few others have had this issue (that's how I found those codes), but I haven't heard of a fix to this. I'd appreciate any help with this issue. Thanks in advance.
