Diplomatic "speech" mods

Post » Mon May 02, 2011 12:03 am

I've realized that I really like the whole diplomatic aspect of Morrowind. Making a name for myself without having to be a big bad warrior. I also really like having homes and what not to own and manage, maybe something bigger than a home like a city. I've used the search site and browsed around but can't really find much that adds to much interest. I'm looking for something that will really enhance the use of speech craft instead of simply bribing all the time and having to actually do stuff revolving around it. Any suggestions?

Speechcraft is a woefully underused skill even with mods, but in regard to home/town managing http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=5730 http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=5997 and http://mwmodders.com/files/FM_4.0.zip are all great.

Try http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=561. I played this a long time ago and it was very nice. You are sent to negotiate a trade dispute between a group of fisherman and The Empire near Gnisis. I liked the focus on investigating and uncovering secrets.

You could also try http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=1942. Also focuses more on investigating and your wits.

Hope you find these to your liking :)

Have you tried http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=878? I find it makes using speechcraft more interesting because the NPCs have many more things to say. A few of the responses to intimidation at very low disposition aren't very lore friendly, though, if that bothers you.

Hm, I'm going to have to try the two Sarafan suggested.

Careful of Trade Disputes. It gives the impression that it was never quite finished, with plenty of error messages . I found as much. So did many of the people who responded with comments on the linked page. Check out what they had to say, especially on the more recent comments page, before installing this. It crashed my system repeatedly until I removed it.

A shame, really. It's an interesting concept mod, very different from most. Somebody with good modding skills needs to go through it and edit the whole thing.

Sound advice fable2! Take heed and be careful. Shame indeed if it's that unfinished. I don't remember any specific problems but error messages don't lie.
