Direct X 11 issues.

Post » Sat Feb 23, 2013 6:47 pm

Hello,
I purchased Crysis 3 and when i went to play it I got an error message about Direct X 11. I found this strange as I have Dx 11 running fine on my system.

I have had a look around and I couldn't find any solutions.

I was wondering if anyone could help?

Please have a look at this screen shot for dxdiag ect.

I am not sure about your specific laptop, but some laptops have more than one GPU. From the Nvidia control you may be able to force it to use the primary GPU and not the Intel HD GPU.

Sorry, that laptop only has a Nvidia GeForce GTS 250M, of which is a DX10 card. It shows DX11 since it is installed, however you cannot use it.

It says right here http://www.notebookcheck.net/Review-Toshiba-Qosmio-X500-Notebook-GeForce-GTX-460M.37088.0.html that his laptop has a GTX 460m.

Unless it's some other revision of the laptop.

If it's a 360m, then yeah, you are out of luck. Your laptop does NOT support DirectX11 in which case you just wasted 60 dollars on a game you cannot play. Unless you have a desktop PC with a DX11 capable GPU.
