DirectX issue?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 10:57 pm

Today while setting up MW on my laptop (Windows 7), I ran into an issue that's confusing and irritating me- when I try to start MW I get an error that reads "The program can't start because d3dx9_43.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." I have re-installed DirectX 9 and 10, even downloaded the 'missing' file, and still get the error message. I also restarted the system a few times to see if it was just a glitch, no luck. :(
Any ideas?

So, you downloaded the missing "d3dx9_43.dll" file and where did you put it? I've got one in C\Windows\System32.

I have DirectX11 installed in ProgramFilesx86, so that I can use it with all my games, and I don't have problems running Morrowind.

Ah! That did it. I had found a directx folder and placed the missing file there, then I tried placing it just about everywhere with no luck, C\Windows\System32 did the trick. Thank you very much.
