Post » Mon May 18, 2009 7:11 pm

Allright. i get that its almost hopeless to get any information on the requirements for Crysis 2 on PC. However i thought that this was a little thin that you guys might be able to answer....Will you support DirectX 11? I mean i for one happen to have a DirectX 11 card that a i quite like, and i hope i dont have to upgrade my whole PC to run the game in at least medium quality...Crytek guys please respond :)

CRYTEK has yet to disclose if the game has DX11, but they did say that the game will utilize the most up-to-date tech

I'm pretty sure CE3 supports DX11 anyway plus they sound passionate about pushing their tech so I would of thought DX11 was a must.

But they have confirmed this trailer being PC in real-time...

Which looks rather nice!

Too bad I don't have a DX11 card, still hope that it has DX11 so that I can play Crysis 2 later with it enabled. Maybe Crysis 2 will have DX11.1 and when you enable it your PC explodes from stress? Must follow traditions, right?

I'm pretty sure some one over on InCrysis said C2 was supporting DX11. I don't think much though.

Kryp: I'm with you. Seems like right when you get a nice system - they come out with a game that makes you have to buy more. But from what I've read on here: the specs will run the same as Crysis 1.

they said that they will use DX11 but they may not implement all of the features. so tessellation and Dof are still up in the air.

When asked if it will have DX11, the CryTek guy (Still can't remember his name) said he could not say, but Crysis 2 would use the most up to date software, thus, in my guess, Crysis 2 WILL have DX11, because it is the most up to date software

Now Heres a thing, That Damm DX11, so back a while I was daft enough to rush out n get me a copy of AVP, and yes i mean the new one on steam, not the old one, but was suprised to find that even the characters still walk as b4 nealy, just like they got a Predetor combi-stick shove up da spine, sure they got some improvements but what a let down, anyhoo, yup DX11 or 10 or 9 even, my Card only good for DX10, but means I wont get all the entire array of graphical benefits, howerver I dont need to rush out to get the latest card, so I imagine that Crytek having a superior game :D defo Superior, would acount for most levels of cards also, DX11, 10 , at least, so I can assume that ima get at least pretty tidy graphics

Its to position of the think from direct x 11. The first think is the Pc Suppport and the amazing graphik so i think yes crysis 2 need direkt 11. To the second think. Xbox 360 cant play with direkt x 11. but the ps 3 and xbox 360 version is a import from the pc version. and i dont think the potential of direct x 11 cant use for crysis two, beacause you must see the xbox 360 and ps3 version made the pc version not better,on the contrary!

The CryENGINE3 does have DirectX 11 support. We haven't announced DX11 for Crysis 2 as of yet. If and when we have any announcement, you'll hear it here first!
