Not to defend Crytek (I am rather pissed at them) but TIAGO's twitter post never said anything about an upcoming DX11 patch, just that they were working with DX11.

Cry-Tom also never said (that I can find) that DX11 was never coming, just that the news it was suppose to come today was ****.

If that's correct, that they are working with DX11, then I will keep my hopes up for a DX11 patch. +1 on the Cry-Tom statement, still DX11 remains a MAXIMUM SECRET

GOOD NEWS
________
Cry-Tom:
Patch 1.2 will be made available through Auto-download feature in the coming week

So much for playing multiplayer properly during spring break. Thanks Crytek for releasing an unfinished product.

Either that or there is no DX11 and it's all an elaborate bluff. Or possibly they are only just starting some of the DX11 now which is why the R & D guy it the one commenting on it.

Seriously guys, do you think DX11 is going to save the game?

I mean i cant remember having to run around in a very narrow designed linear map for one and having to collect little dog tags and statuettes for bonus points in Crysis/Warhead. Its very console.

No my friends even if DX11 existed it will not help any graphical improvements or the game play.

I think Mr. Tiago was forced to remove the Tweet. A bit too enthusiastic maybe? And he definitely meant the DX11 patch. He mentioned "patience", "DX11" and "PC hardware" in one sentence. I can solve that without Dr. Watson, thank you.

I don't know but maybe it's EAs fault because they rushed them into releasing the game...

I don't really give a crap about these things I just want DX11 and I do believe that it can improve the graphics in some important areas. It will still feel more like a console game than C1 but as long as it doesn't look like one I don't give a crap.

His exact words were "Cooking some great DX11 tech bits for C2 fans, be patient guys. All I can say, is that we have 16 ms or more to have fun with pc hardware..."

What do you get from that Mr. Holmes?

16 miliseconds of processing time is available on the PC, whereas the consoles are maxed out. Sounds like they made the game for consoles, and are now going back and revamping a bunch of stuff for a big PC update.

Here's how I understand it:
Lets say consoles require 30 miliseconds to render a Crysis 2 frame as it is today.
Well high-end PCs can render that in 14 miliseconds, giving Crytek an extra 16 miliseconds of processing time.
So Crytek is reworking the graphics to take advantage of the power behind PCs.

*eehhh, my numbers are way off, but thats the basic jist of it, I think
33fps = 1 frame every 3 hundreths of a second.

Isn't it obvious? If it meant nothing, his Tweet would still be there.
