This situation is just STUPID!!!

Crytek just had to say " Dear community we are working in DX11 patch, bu at this time we don′t know when will be out."

or

"Dear community there isn′t a DX11 patch unless the sales reach 15 million of copies"

But no, they don′t say nothing about this....

Very strange: when I started Crysis at 18.00 (Netherlands) today at Steam, it pops up "updating Crysis..." or somthing very shortly. And i was able to play without being kicked and my stats stayed there. So what was it... only a "special" Steam update for the game? Btw: the game showed stil version 1.1

What was it?

Interesting observation:

There had to be some sort of "official" information floating around regarding Crysis 2 with DX 11, or else NVIDIA would have never had Crysis 2 on their DX 11 list. They advertised Crysis 2 with their GTX 560Ti and in their front page at GeForce.com. They wouldn't just assume that Crysis 2 had DX 11, especially considering they were a big partner during the development of the game.

Maximum Inconsistency? XD

I highly doubt that Crytek would post any big information on here. They have abandoned the PC community that created them. They got our 60 bucks, so who gives a **** about us?

16ms in my opinion is most likely an additional 16ms on the 560ti overclock.

In my opinion it seems like the card that they sell as "Crysis 2 Maximum graphics edition" (560ti overclock), would run it at roughly 30fps maxed out, thats how Nvidia would've planned it. But then again it could be that they can do 60fps who knows.

You think they would base their MAXIMUM GFX on a 560ti (dx11) ??

Why not? It's a near top-of-the-line card.

Nobody knows because the statement is incomplete.

16ms is 60fps(approx) but DX9 on the 560ti is already sub 60fps so this is more than likely an additional 16ms + 16ms = 32ms = 30fps(approx)

I don't know for sure but I do know what ms is (even if you don't which seems likely) so STFU

Maybe because it says "560ti Crysis 2 Maximum graphics edition" on the box?

This is a direct quote from the user "SoilentBlue" on OCN,

"milliseconds. It means that using the DX11 API, there's a huge overhead of unused compute time that gives the engineers the ability to add in more features, content, etc. It's great because it means that PC will have much more than consoles. It's horrible because that shows just how much consoles held back the PC version. Console developers fight tooth and nail just to scrounge an additional ms for anything.

Basically, the video card takes time to preform the tonnes of computations to render out a single frame. With a millisecond being a unit of time, it goes to show you just how much a computer can do in that duration. The minimum spec for PC has the video card shelling out over 500 gigaflop/s and it's not even a DX11 card. If memory serves, the first DX11 cards came three generations later (9k series, 200 series, and arriving on the 300 series).

According to the CE3 autopsy posted a couple of days ago, water ripple propogation took only .2 milliseconds on consoles. The 16 ms in comparison would be akin to adding water propogation 80 times and not having any hindrance on performance, we still have to wait and see how much they will cram in but yes it's a VERY VERY good thing. to give you an idea of it sun shadows(very demanding) take between 2-5ms. they are talking about a good chunk of overhead before damaging your current fps. the new engine is quite impressive so we will see just how far they go now that they are not having to cater to consoles. "

understand?... I think this should be added to OP with a referance to the twitter post.

i do not believe crytec have sold us down the river for some quick cash,( that wont last long) .i think this mess has alot to do with piracy of the game, its still fun to play i can wait for the fixes.

If you step back and look what he said, he was referring to PCs being capable of 60fps where consoles only muster 30/24fps (32/xx ms). In that extra/less time...more processing can be done without dropping to unaccaptable framerates. If you added DX11/intense features to consoles the frame rate would be below 30/24fps.

All he said was they are STILL developing for PC while the console versions are finished.

i would imagine EA have been paying the wages over at crytec for some time and making them release on time to get revenue back.
this could be why the game aint finnished just my 5 cents worth.
