Dirty marketing by CryTek in latest DLC

Post » Sun Dec 11, 2011 12:17 pm

So you think you're not gonna buy the latest DLC because you don't want to cough up the $10, for whatever reason, even if it's a good decent one. You say to yourself, who needs this crappy FY71 anyway? Why is this weapon from Crysis 1 suddenly worth $10 in Crysis 2?

CryTek made the weapon incredibly cheap.

* Three shots will kill anyone anywhere, two shots to the head. DOES NOT MATTER IF YOU HAVE ARMOR MODE enabled.
* There is NO RECOIL on the gun.
* It fires too slow for an FY71, and still causes too much damage for what the gun actually is.
* non-DLC players can use the weapon if they kill someone with it. Tested it out, and confirmed above points.

So this is how you want to convince people to buy the DLC? By making it super awesome, and then "quietly" patch the game later so that the weapon is normalized with all the other weapons? Screw you, CryTek, I'm still not upgrading my servers. If I were an EA shareholder, your company would be going straight to hell.

Might as well have included an aimbot in the latest DLC.

Instead of a smoke grenade, they should have included a tactical nuclear device in the DLC pack. Kill everything within 20m :D

Smoke grenade is pointless. Every time it's thrown, I just shoot through it, then around it, and get the kill on the grenade thrower. Always.

Does anyone remember how much Crysis 1 cost? I specifically remember I got it for $29.99 right before Christmas of 2007, and guess what, it included the FY71!!!

and guess what whole game was almost **** with gameplay side. It was mostly a plus because of out of its time graphics.

Well thats your personal opinion and my personal opinion is that gameplay of C1 was better and the game itself had much less bugs from the get go.Only 3 patches were released and 2 of them were because of the moding reasons.

I bought the original crysis last month, didn't play past the first level. It really did have poor gameplay and controls with some pretty wonky AI that spotted me on a hillside from a boat in the bay.

I don't understand what the fuss about it was, someday I'll struggle through the bad control scheme of it or rebind it :P

DLC's like this are a ripp off...just imagine the world was smart like me...imagine Crytek released the DLC and NO ONE baught it...and then they release the second one and NO ONE buys it...then by default they will get a clue and stop making s^!tty DLC's that aren't worth the internet costs of downloading them.

Well you can blame Microsoft and the X-box 360 generation for DLC to be quite honest it would be nice if it were like the old days when the content was free. But to be honest it costs money to develop DLC so do you really think Crytek or any other developer is gonna give content that they put work into for free or are they gonna charge for it?

Well the logical answer is that they are going to charge for it what most dev's are looking at is the consoles and the amount of money is being made on DLC alone. So it was a matter of time for the PC.

I understand you have to pay astronomical amounts of money for broadband in South Africa but that's clearly not Cryteks fault.

DLC can sell more of the game, so you add free DLC's to get more sales of the game. THe DX11 patch will sell more of the game and is doing since it was announced and that's free.

The Witcher 2 you get two free DLC add-ons.

Depends on how the company handles public relations and view their fanbase. I bought Left 4 Dead 2 and it appears to be a deal that just keeps on giving. EA's MO appears to be to bullhorn hype ad nauseum to get some svckers in the store, and then its ..-"you want some DLC with that purchace?", "supersize?".

The only DLC/expansion that was worth my money was Bad Company 2 Vietnam, $14.99 regular price, I got it for $7 on sale. It included a whole new series of maps, not just a few parking lots from singleplayer, and a whole new set of weapons and vehicles, with new player models and even different music and theme. Now that's what a DLC/expansion should be.

Bad Company 2 is published by EA as well, so it must be Crytek's fault that our DLC packs are just singleplayer maps and weapon from 4 years ago.

DLC use to be a "thank you for buying our game". It use to add to the game to keep it alive. Now Crytek have a game that is "broken", the DX11 that was promised to people hasn't been delivered and they expect us to pay them more money. I understand it takes time and effort to make a game, but it took Crytek like 2 months to release their first DLC. Not only that but the maps are taken from SP and tweaked for mp, that leads me to believe they could have been in the release. Other games come with more weapons and more maps and less bugs on release day...this is just a slap in the face...we're buying this game piece by piece.

Borss is american and you can put americans in 2 groups.First group, thats where Borss fits, consits of unintelegent,trolling,dont-know-whats-hapening beyond-my-town-border , mishaps of society and mother nature, and one can easily spots them everywhere on this forum going headfirst through wall with thems posts and their fingers faster than their brain. Now the second group of americanos are very intelegent and actually think trough before they post in threads or they even dont post in threads if they think its not worth posting. But i have to admit that i havent see anyone from the second group posting yet or i wasnt fortunate enough to run by any posts so....?! This is also trolling but i think brits will stand by me on this one.
