Disappear items

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 8:55 am

I really hope our items don't disappear anymore, for example:

I shot a crap loada arrows at a door once, only to go over a min or 2 later to see from my 25 arrows that I shot I only was able to collect 8 of them, so the others disappeared on me.
I hope they fix this because though dorky I would love to be able to place like an arrow or somehow throw a axe n have it hit a tree near the side of a road to act as a sort of location marker when I go thru a forest if I don't want to use the map markers...

I know this idea is stupid, sorry I would just think it would be interesting to come across a axe in the side of a tree that a NPC has placed there to show you the way or so they wouldn't get lost when they needed to come back to the place they were looking for.

arrows disappear, because sometimes when you shoot them they become useless

If they didn't disappear, that would make potential for serious save game bloating. The game needs to refresh/ reset itself once in awhile.

Only thing I didn't like "disappearing" was weapons and shields falling through the floor before you could nab them off any dead foe.

that will most likely be fixed, because Oblivion had a system in which you could take the weapon off the body or off the floor

I remember I once had to take off some loot, so I stored it in one of the crates in the market district in the imperial city. Came back some days later and it was gone :o

That's the story about resetting containers - I'm confident it will be discussed numerous times in the future. And just for the record: I want non-resetting crates, like in FO.
And I hope there'll never be a item-eating floor again. I want to decorate my house without loosing goodies. That's terribly annoying.

Wat should happen, is that any time you put an item in a container, manually, it doesn't disappear, but it CAN be removed. For example, another NPC might find it and take it, then you'd have a chance of being reunited with it, or tracking them down if you see them. Maybe an enchantment on objects that lets you always know their location? As for player houses, stuff shouldn't really disappear ever.

Don't mind it. For waypoints in a forest, I generally coax an animal close to me, kill it, and put in the spot. Works very effectively.

Is that possible in the normal edition of Oblivion?
