Yeah because it's more realistic to not have children than to make them non-kill-able. /sarcasm

Have the people who don't want children played Fo3? They were sometimes annoying, but sometimes (example) seeing
Billy Creel talk about how much he loved his little daughter and the relationship they had was really immersible
and touching.

and if an arrow happened to hit the space where a kid was it would do nothing, the npc would not even acknowledge it any more than just running away more.

And that is immersion breaking. Right?

Im looking forward to children in Skyrim especially Argonian an Khajit ones. They are going to be adorable.

I think that not just children but also most regular peaceful NPC's should try to get away from you as fast and far as they can when you turn into a homocidal maniac.
Only guards and people like a trainer in blade skill or someone in the fighters guild should try to attack.
Also if you steal something and they attack you but then find they cant win, I would like it if they tried to get away.
It just seems a more logical action compared to Oblivion and Morrowind where everyone went hostile to the death in situations they stood absolutely no chance.

The topic about Dragon Age is not allowed on the forums you guys. You know the rules, don't get this thread locked, please.

Sorry, I didn't know we couldn't even mention that. I thought it was ok as long as we didn't specify/go into detail.

I think there should be kids, it would add to the believability of the world, but it is still controversial. However, why not? There were kids in Fallout 3, which featured guns and gore. In general they were in areas where attacking them would bring pwnage on the player, because there would be lots of people around to kick your butt. I think the same will be true with Skyrim. Maybe, even, if a child is attacked, a dragon appears and attacks the player. :P

which is why they should not be in game in the first place, they do nothing but add a bit of realism that makes there seem as if there is some dynamacy to the game population which there isn't, and any realism they add is broken every time combat breaks out near them.

Those 2 kids running around Freeside, in NV, always look so ridiculous when they just hunch over and shake when a shootout ensues.

They should have nooks and crannies everywhere in towns and cities to hide where the player can't go, like the invisible cell idea. They should do this when ANY weapon is drawn and move fast to hide.

As far as immersion breaking, we know that the kids are invincible; therefore, they should only been seen in areas/situations where any type of combat would be considered immersion breaking. For example, only have kids appear in towns and cities where combat would be out of place (except for dragon attacks - but when a dragon attacks I am sure that my full attention will be on the dragon and everyone in town should be fleeing to indoors).

Invisible cells would be a good idea. And if they are behind the character then they could just disappear.

It's more realistic to just not include kids than to add places where the player can't go.

You guys have to understand that there ARE kids in the game already. They likely have to do with quests already made and many other important game elements. Kids are in.

and you have to understand that even if there ARE kids in the game this thread is just as much useless as their complains because the mechanics to prevent you know what that we wont talk about are probably already decided

Like I said. That doesn't matter anymore. KIDS ARE IN. They will likely be in every game from here on in. Do you think that my idea is any good? What is your solution to a world that WILL HAVE KIDS?

This.

But that is just taking my opinion and turning around to show that all opinions bar yours are invalid...

You have yet to give a real reason why you somehow don't want children.

Another example from Fallout 3: Helping Brian Wilkes look for his father after he comes up to
you in tears. Great quest that stuck in my mind. Shame his father never made it, but at least you could
help him find his relative and convince her to adopt him.

Children are in anyway and I think it will be ace again.

A poll would be better. Where the poll would ask if we want kids in the game or not. :ahhh:

Thats not the point of this thread. The point is to discuss the disappearances of children in Skyrim.

no. NO POLLS. WE DONT NEED ANYMORE POLLS ON THIS FORUM!

to add to what i said too. i'd rather have children being invincible and sustain my blows rather than have them run at the speed of light when an arrow is in the air.

@Mankar personnaly i just think your idea is plain bad.

Because I don't want invincible children, killable children, or children that hide/run.

if we talk about it now maybe they will realize not to put them in next time, or may even take them out before release (they have done so with other things, so its not too late), MW had a children mod (I cant remember if you could kill them, you were not supposed to because I remember the modder's read me specifcly asked that people don't abuse the mod) and children should stick to being an extra gimmick that people can optionally choose to have if it pleases them.

Fallout 3 did it right. If you start up a riot..the children hide.
