1.2 - Disappointing

Post » Sun May 22, 2011 8:27 pm

Am I the only one that's seriously unimpressed with this patch? It seems like they didn't really do much, aside from fixing some login issues and the catalyst bug. Other than that, the game's still riddled with bugs and plagued with hackers. They basically fixed one big bug, and it took them forever to do it.

Sad.....

pretty much spot on. its taken them two weeks to fix a very small sub-set of issues. The SLI flickering is still there; the mycryisis account issues are still there etc..

Cant disagree.

Remember that interview with oe of the leads when the beta got leaked?

He said "We have 250 employess working on the game so bugs get fixed in a heartbeat"

Well dont he just look like a lying fool now. This is really sad. PS3 got an AI fix among others. We dont get crap.

As long as the game isn't "hello cheaters, come and play with your cracked version!", I'm very satisfied.

I hope all (or most, since all is not realistic) security holes get patched too in the near future.

Of course you're disappointed. They could have redone the game in Cryengine 5 with DX15 and you guys would still be biching.

What exactly do you guys want?

Scenario 1:
They wait until more stuff is fixed, and release 1.2 in another 10 days and fix more problems, but people complain it's taken so long.

Scenario 2:
They release what they've fixed so far, now, as 1.2, and release 1.3 in another 10 day with more problems, and people complain 1.2 doesn't fix enough.

You can't have it both ways.

You people know nothing about programming, a game of this scale can't be fixed overnight and the dudes at CryTek are trying their hardest, otherwise we wouldn't have any sort of bug fix.

Sure there are bugs, but the game is playable, just relax, except it's got some problems and enjoy it, it's a good game.

I have to agree... I think people are going to complain no matter what. Even when the DX11 patch comes out, people (with no programming knowledge at all) will start creating threads regarding crytek's improper usage of tessellation or something trivial. Regardless, they will find something wrong with it. I am definitely looking forward to it... but I know that making daily posts about how angry I am about it being shipped with DX9, is not going to make it come any sooner.

For me, the only problem that really broke the game was the nano-catylst bug. Now that it has been fixed, I am happy. Now all they need to do is get rid of that halo around my gun in 3D vision and I'll be thrilled.

Looking at the PC section of this forum... I am honestly starting to feel bad for crytek. Imagine what the programmers feel like when they visit this form lol. Seriously though, unconstructive criticism does not help anything... only hurts our image as a community. The more immature and flamerish people get on this forum... the less seriously crytek will take the PC community.

I just want them to release the sandbox, so everyone can start modding or making maps.......

Cause it takes 6 months or longer to make nice maps, maybe even 1 year.

Firstly, they did way more work on the console versions in the patches. Secondly, they should have released a finished game in the first place. Thirdly, the patches don't warrant 2 weeks of work. Someone already figured out that the catalyst bug was due to the game trying to subtract from a total amount, but was instead subtracting from the amount you had. That was likely a very easy fix, and with compiling added in, it might have taken one guy a day or so to look over the code for the catalysts and fix that.

I've no idea what are you talking about. Personally I like it. Single Player issues are fixed. Multiplayer feels solid at last (it feels smother and nicer).

Yeah, but those who whine about trivial stuff are not the same people whining about not even being able to play the **** game. If you are, good for you, but quit biching yourself about those who complain for a good reason.

This patch fixed the NanoCatalyst issues, but login problems are still there and they MUST do something.

Maybe it really fixed some problems, but I still can't play MP more than 2-5 minutes in match.

Can you, guys, give me solution?

Really? The patch fixed the Nano-catalyst issues? Really? Ya sure about that? 'Cause I just lost another 4 thousand after quitting to Windows, then logging back in.

GG Crytek.

So they spent 2 weeks not really fixing anything.

Yes I have a legit version of course) And I'm not using any custom files (include hi-res textures)...

Maybe I should try to reinstall game? What do you think?

I wish they would give us an option to disable the death sound. I'm sick and tired of every time I die having my bass unit exploding. Why did Crytek add such a USELESS feature in the first place? I think when you are dead, and killcam kicks in, it's fairly obvious... you. are. dead. We get it. Not to mention the fact the bloody noise repeats on killcam. It's cheesy, irritating and loud. Get rid of it. Or at least give us the choice to disable it. It's actually the main reason I don't play the stupid thing. That, or I constantly loose connection.

Idiot, the bugs do get fixed in a heartbeat, but the same ones get fixed multiple times. Fixing a bug has the potential to cause OTHER problems. This is why it actually takes TIME to fix a bug PROPERLY without other issues. Plus Nathan Camarillo said that statement mainly because he and the rest of Crytek were panicking that people were seeing a leaked Crysis 2. He considered it listening to music without "all of the instruments," which heavily bothered him.

As for the OP, I disagree. Actually, you people agreeing with the OP are stupid little brats who can't appreciate the fact that Crytek 1:) Fixed several SERIOUS issues (according to MANY posts on the forums), 2:) Still support the PC version and are actually fixing the PC flaws before consoles, and 3:) That even after this patch there are more patches to come. I personally, in the past 3-4 days, have seen maybe....err, 3 or 4 hackers? And I play the multiplayer A LOT. I'm not alone when I say there is a big decrease in hackers. Crytek is still working on more patches.

Also for those getting flickering with SLI and Crossfire...ATI has released updates where the flickering stops with crossfire. For NVIDIA users, either wait or cry to NVIDIA to give you guys an update.
