Disappointments...

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2011 8:03 am

At E3 is the most probable, some magazines might have some small features before then but don't expect anything major

I agree. Though I still hope :)
Maybe they could show before E3 the other races. I was really impressed by Orcs and Khajiit. I hope the other races are as good.

Just look at the astounding trailer, the Dragon combat, the beautiful screen shots and new gameplay information that's already been released... THIS EARLY IN THE YEAR! What on earth have the developers got up their sleeves for E3? It must be something mindblowingly awesome.

I'm extremely satisfied with the info so far, can't wait for more.

I wasn't comparing it as in being locked in a location but I think you are still a captive , and Esbern had a vision and was sent by the Nine to liberate you?

Spoiler
You start imprisoned, and Esbern saves you from execution. I highly doubt they'd let a prisoner, who's awaiting execution, go adventuring with armor and weapons.

It's much more likely the described quest takes place well after the starting area.

Satisfied with some disappointments.

I absolutely love where they're taking TES, and frankly relieved that there's still a dev making expansive heroic fantasy adventure RPGs at all. The art style -- and individual art assets I've seen so far -- is everything I hoped for, the emphasis on detail and handcrafted environments is very much welcome, and everything from the progression system to the bestiary (so far) is almost too good to be true.

Disappointments are few and relatively minor. Primarily I'm disappointed that attributes were removed rather than streamlined & better used. I'm disappointed that more isn't being made of PC hardware and DirectX 11. And I'm disappointed that mounts are merely a possibility rather than a major feature, expanded and improved over Oblivion.

I have a very positive impression of the game overall.

So we got told to expect some "new" info this week and so far all we have is not really that much "NEW" info, its all been hinted on before apart from the map. i wouldn't really count a first quest to be new info as its a spoiler so people probs dont want to hear that anyway... i didn't! but had to read it for the supposed "new info". So now even gametrailers who we've all anticipated most to bring us some real new info has now removed the words they used to have "with exclusive reveals". So I guess there is no new info. The only genuine new info is how kajhiit and orcs now look, which someone can only get sorta interested in. Once you've seen it thats it, just a picture and no real long lasting excitement or anything extra info to derive. So now we have the same threads repeating over and over again. So yeah, I'm disappointed.

Why is their no regular satisfied?

I'm not jumping up or down satisfied but I'm not apathetic either.

I only have very small dissapointments that may be fixed later. No stabbing spears

I think some people are confusing this poll with a poll about the overall satisfaction with what we know about Skyrim so far.
This is just about the amount of new information we got this week.

I still can't vote. My feelings aren't represented in the poll.

Beat me to it! This isn't about how you feel about attributes being taken out or that you got to see the new lion mans face, its about are you satisfied with the quantity of the new information.

Ok. So where's the "I'm satisfied completely" and "not disappointed at all" options?

I made this mistake, I realised. Although most of my response is relevant to the new info anyway, so I didn't bother to go back and edit it.

Also, the week isn't over yet; I'm hoping we'll get something new today or Friday.

The game still has a long time until release. It makes sense that they haven't given any information. In fact they've giving more then I expected so far.

Haven't seen the new info so can't say
They're going to dripfeed the info until a demo comes out
It makes sense for them to do it that way to keep up interest without giving away hostages to fortune (like Radiant AI)
I know I'll buy it, I hope I'll really like it, but the proof will be in the pudding

Any news is always good and I for sure want to see more trailers, however like with Oblivion and even Morrowind Bethesda has been smart. 5 game play trailers 50 screen shots and too much info on content and story kind of ruins it. Some games and companies especially newer ones need to show a lot early for marketing. Bethesda though has had a big following since Arena and Daggerfall and a HUGE one since Morrowind, so no need to show too much. Most people are craving this game like a drug and know little about it, so some solid updates from time to time more screens and some more live scenes is good enough like the way they handled Oblivion.

Posts like this are why i love the internet.

On Topic: I'm not really disapointed cause i knew all hte info were gonna get is going to be old or lame, but i really would like some small gameplay or something or at least more indepth on the diffrent systems they put in game now like factions, weapon crafting, stuff like that.

Sounded like it was outside to me (starting in a village, going to a mountain, etc), not trapped in some place. So unless they lock you into that path, which would be very very dumb...

Besides, the encounters seemed a bit much for a level 1 starting character.

i think he was trying to say that when you first start the game you are a prisoner about to be exicuted and you get away somehow.
Youre in captivity in the beggining of the game, not roaming free.
