MP - disconnecting after 2-3 mins of playing

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 12:07 am

Hi,
I bought Crysis 2(from EADM) yesterday and I have the following problem with the multiplayer: when I connect to a server, I can play for about 2-3 minutes and after that time I get disconnected and Crysis shows that 'I have been logged out'. Sometimes I'm able to play a full map with no problems, but that's like 1 out of 5 times when I connect to a server. It's really annoying, especially because my XP and stats are not being saved after being disconnected
My PC runs the game at the highest settings with no problem and my Internet connection is not the cause.

Enable DMZ in your router. Report back after testing.

I don't think enabling DMZ is necessary + it's not very safe...

Same is happening for me every couple of minutes! Opened ports but that makes no difference. I've tried everything that has been suggested on this forum. Enabling the DMZ on my router worked and I managed to play a whole MP match but I am NOT keeping my pc open to hackers just so I am able to play what I have paid for! Any response from any CRY-Employee would be gratefully received.

Try grouping up with a friend and joining a server, this has bypassed the issue for me so far, but is only a temporary workaround.

No, I want to play whenever I want and not wait for a friend to be around. Are you working on this problem Crytek, there is no mention of it on you "fix" thread! A lot of people are having this issue.

No question it's a ridiculous issue, having to wait for friends to come online is incredibly frustrating. Was just providing an option to get some gaming in while they piss around fixing it.

Yes I know. It's **** ridiculous having to find little tricks to be able to play this game how we should.

Aye, as a Brit night worker who generally plays with NA players it is fricking annoying being stuck here with no friends online and stuck just sitting here twiddling my thumbs. May have to go digging in my steam archives for a timewaster.

you have opened DMZ but it doesn't mean this fixed the problem, like I said in my first post, sometimes it is possible to play a full round if you're lucky.

I think a new law has to be made... when the game doesn't work at all/it's bugged - players should get a refund.
now forum users solve problems(for free!), but I thought this is the devs work...

EDIT: hell yea, I could play for 10 minutes, got nice stats and suddenly? logged out again... :/

I'm having the almost the exact same issue with the online multiplayer, as with me it kicks me out every single time no matter how many tries, opening the DMZ isnt a good option as it leaves all the PC ports open to hackers.
Even so, i tried enabling DMZ just to see if it fixes this issue, and it didnt fix anything, what people need to realize is that this isnt our machines fault by any means but instead its Cryteks fault as they messed up the entire online multiplayer gameplay, and now we are supposed to find some type of fix to sort out cryteks mess??? what a bloody joke

I totally agree, if this was our PCs or Internet connections fault the game would show that connection was terminated and we clearly see this happens because of the MP engine...
