Discuss the new Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim trailer here!

First, i'd like to thank Bethesda for not putting out a disappointing trailer. The Dragons look awesome, the Dragon Shouts sound awesome, the graphics and effects are far better, actual proper blood and finishing moves. And that theme.....

I couldn't be happier with it.

By the way was the draugr's face got royally smashed when the player character dealt the finishing move??? Oh darn hopefully the helmet will still be salvageable afterwards :P

Also, I enjoy seeing that delivering a particularly hard blow to the enemy would leave your character tumbling a little.

WOW!

That was EPIC to say the least.

Did anyone notice at 1:20 you see a horse and at 1:32 you see a bard playing a lute in the Tavern!

My favorite part of the trailer was the windmill location around 1:20 :)

Same. From the looks of it, we're going to have a lot of memorable locations and interesting cities.

Also dwemer machinery, one handed staves, a guy playing the lute in a tavern, area of effect 'on self' fire spells, awesome shadows and good looking animations! :D

Yes... 1:45 definitely shows what looks to be a Dwemer ruin. You can see piping running from the ceiling down the walls along the floor, something flowing through it.

In the shot with the windmill I noticed a horse (I really hope they leave them in only if you just get to ride on them but I hope we can fight from horseback) and if you look through the rock bridge it appears to be a ship or boat off in the distance. I hope they have working boats/ferry's etc.

Wow...

That actually brought a tear to my eye.

Bravo!

You're not the only one! Specially at the dragon shout.

1:20 - Either birds of prey or dragons flying over the river.

1:31 - Bird of prey in the sky!

1:33 - Elf sitting in a bar (female Bosmer?) and a Nord playing a musical instrument.

... That was so worth 47 minutes of non stop F5ing.

Those dragons look amazing and when the guy ran down that snowy path... WOW. And when he did the dragon shout, just... just... AMAZING. I can't stop watching it! This is the best game trailer I've ever seen.

Bethesda, I love you guys, my virtual first born is for you! :P

lol same! Then I found it on youtube. haha

I've watched it probably 10 times so far and I still can't get enough. Can you sleuths start breaking down the trailer now? :)

I agree about the flowing water, it doesn't look very good. It was just a texture, and not a very sharp one at that. Nothing reflective. It looked almost cartoony. Overall we don't have to expect miracles when it comes to the sharpness of the textures, but the rest looks fantastic. Especially the lighting, shadows and all the different particle effects all over the place.

Leave the super high resolution textures to the modders. :D

Absolutely amazing, I got shivers from the second I started to watch, and I shed a tear when the dragon shout was in unison with the song. Bravo! Spectacular!

A lot of blood splatter in that fight with the dragon. Even though it was a cutscene-like thing, it's probably a good indication that the player will have blood splattered on him/her in fights. Looked like way less than Dragon Age. It could be pretty cool.

At the 1:25 mark, the water looks pretty bad. Dunno how Pete could brag about that. But, still, really nice trailer.

Nine months left, I'd say Beth have plenty of time to sort out the water. It's hardly a gold build but still, the game is looking graphically sound IMO.

I didn't think anything could interest me in fantasy gaming again, but that looks interesting. Nice and wild and gritty.
It looks great now -- imagine how it will look in 8 months.

I have one concern though. To me, the water doesn't look all that great. I mean, in the river it looks ok, but in the waterfall over the rocks, it just looks sort of "plastic-y"

My thoughts exactly. Hopefully those are not the finished water graphics.
Besides that it was spectacular, I particularly liked the animations as he sprinted down the snowy path at the start of the video.

The graphics are impressive but does not seem very innovative, everything is quite squared.

The shout is the best part for sure.

I agree that we are in a northern land that in TES4, but i hope green fields and forests are not going to be rare...
Green nature is better than all rock and all snow nature...
